  1. 21. Deformation and Fatigue Behaviour of Aluminium Alloys for High Specific Power IC Engine Applications

    Författare :Elanghovan Natesan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cylinder head; aluminium; constitutive models; thermo-mechanical fatigue; fatigue; ageing; mechanical behaviour; A356;

    Sammanfattning : The development towards higher specific power and lower displacement engines in recent years has placed increasingly high thermal loads on the internal combustion engine materials. Further, the advent of hybrid power trains placing higher demands on quick starts and a rapid approach to maximum power necessitates the automotive industry to move towards a more robust computational thermo-mechanical fatigue life prediction methodology to develop reliable engines and reduce developmental costs. 2. 22. Influences of temperature, fatigue and mixed mode loading on the cohesive properties of adhesive layers

    Författare :Tomas Walander; Christian Berggreen; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; adhesive layer; cohesive law; fatigue; finite element analysis; fracture energy; mixed mode; multi-axial fatigue; potential model; temperature; Mechanics of Materials; Materialmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns some aspects that have influence on the strength of adhesive layers. The strength is determined by the stress deformation-relation of the layer. This relation is also referred to as cohesive law. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Fatigue strength of welds in 800 MPa yield strength steels : Effects of weld toe geometry and residual stress

    Författare :Ebrahim Harati; Lars-Erik Svensson; Leif Karlsson; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fatigue strength; Residual stress; Welds; Weld toe geometry; High strength steel; Weld Impression Analysis; Laser Scanning Profiling; Structured Light Projection; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Nowadays there is a strong demand for lighter vehicles in order to increase the pay load. Through this the specific fuel consumption is decreased, the amount of greenhouse gases is lowered and the transport economy improved. One possibility to optimize the weight is to make the components from high strength steels and join them by welding. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Fatigue in patients with chronic heart failure. Patient experience and consequences of fatigue in daily life

    Författare :Kristin Falk; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :fatigue; chronic heart failure; uncertainty; sense of coherence; anxiety; depression; symptom distress; hemoglobin; functional status;

    Sammanfattning : Although fatigue is a prevalent and distressing symptom in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), it is an underestimated problem in the care of patients, and consequently, insufficiently investigated. The primary aim of this thesis was, therefore, to advance the knowledge from the patients? perspective by describing characteristics of the fatigue experience and its consequences in daily life in patients with CHF. 5. 25. Application of high-frequency mechanical impact treatment for fatigue strength improvement of new and existing bridges

    Författare :Hassan al-Karawi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Corrosion; Bridges; Fatigue; Crackdetection; HFMI; Finiteelement; Steel; Lifeextension; Post-weldtreatment; Variableampli- tude;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the application of High-Frequency Mechanical Impact (HFMI) treatment for fatigue strength improvement of weldments in existing and new bridges. In the former case, the welds have already been subjected to fatigue loading and accumulated damage before treatment. LÄS MER
