  1. 11. Blood-Brain Barrier Transport of Drugs Across Species with the Emphasis on Health, Disease and Modelling

    Författare :Karin Tunblad; Margareta Hammarlund-Udenaes; Niclas Jonsson; Elizabeth CM de Lange; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical biosciences; Blood-brain barrier; Disease; Microdialysis; Modelling; Transport; Pharmacokinetics; NONMEM; Farmaceutisk biovetenskap; Biopharmacy; Biofarmaci;

    Sammanfattning : The transport of drugs across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) has been investigated in different species using morphine and morphine-6-glucuronide (M6G) as model compounds. The influence of probenecid on the BBB transport of morphine and M6G was investigated, and the consequences of meningitis and severe brain injury on the concentrations of morphine in the brain were examined. 2. 12. Pharmacometric Models for Antibody Drug Conjugates and Taxanes in HER2+ and HER2- Breast Cancer

    Författare :Brendan Bender; Lena Friberg; Mats Karlsson; Jin Jin; Oscar della Pasqua; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacometric; PKPD; model; breast cancer; T-DM1; thrombocytopenia; hepatotoxiticy; HER2; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : In oncology, there is a need to optimize drug treatment for efficient eradication of tumors, minimization of adverse effects (AEs), and prolonging patient survival. Pharmacometric models can be developed to streamline information between drug development phases, describe and quantify response to treatment, and determine dose regimens that balance toxicity and efficacy. 3. 13. Developmental Aspects of Drug Transport Across the Blood-Brain Barrier

    Författare :Jörgen Bengtsson; Margareta Hammarlund-Udenaes; Ann-Cathrin Engwall; Sven Björkman; Elizabeth C.M. de Lange; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Blood-brain barrier; development; active transport; tight junction proteins; microdialysis; recovery; morphine; nitrofurantoin; Bcrp; microarray; real-time PCR; in vitro; in vivo; LC-MS MS; Biopharmacy; Biofarmaci; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : The developmental aspect of drug transport across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) was investigated. Microdialysis was used to study unbound morphine BBB transport at different ages in sheep. An in vitro study was performed to find differentially expressed genes in brain capillary-rich fractions of the brain in rats of different ages. LÄS MER
