6. Regulation of Vitamin D 25-hydroxylases : Effects of Vitamin D Metabolites and Pharmaceutical Compounds on the Bioactivation of Vitamin D
Sammanfattning : A 700bp portion of the promoter of CYP2D25, the porcine microsomal vitamin D 25-hydroxylase was isolated and sequenced. The computer analysis of the sequence revealed the existence of a putative VDRE at 220 bp upstream of the transcription start site. LÄS MER
7. Expression of Genes Encoding for Drug Metabolism in the Small Intestine
Sammanfattning : This investigation focused on the mRNA expression of drug metabolising Cytochromes P-450 (CYP) and UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGT) and the transport protein P-glycoprotein (Pgp) in the small intestine of humans and rats. The mRNA expression of the investigated genes in the human small intestine (duodenum) varies between individuals giving each one of us personal profile. 8. Cytochrome P450 enzymes in the biosynthesis and metabolism of bile acids and active forms of vitamin D
Sammanfattning : Cytochrome P450 enzymes catalyzing hydroxylations in the biosynthesis and metabolism of bile acids and active forms of vitamin D3 were studied.A microsomal cytochrome P450 enzyme with a molecular mass of 53 kDa, catalyzing the 6α-hydroxylation of taurochenodeoxycholic acid was purfied from pig liver microsomes and characterized with respect to catalytic and electrophoretic properties as well as polyclonal antibodies. 9. Cytochrome P450 enzymes in oxygenation of prostaglandin endoperoxides and arachidonic acid : Cloning, expression and catalytic properties of CYP4F8 and CYP4F21
Sammanfattning : Cytochrome P450 (P450 or CYP) is an enzyme system involved in the oxygenation of a wide range of endogenous compounds as well as foreign chemicals and drugs. This thesis describes investigations of P450-catalyzed oxygenation of prostaglandins, linoleic and arachidoniacids. LÄS MER
10. Characterization of Novel Solute Carriers in Humans, Mice and Flies : Solute Carriers in a Broad and Narrow Perspective
Sammanfattning : The solute carrier family is the largest family of membrane-bound transporters in humans, with 430 members divided into 65 subfamilies. They transport various substrates across lipid barriers and are vital for absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion in all cell types in the body. LÄS MER
