21. Essays on Social Capital, Health and Socioeconomic Inequalities in Health A Health Economic Study
Sammanfattning : The thesis comprises four independent research papers and a summary that focus on two related dimensions. The first dimension focuses on the understanding of the production of health. Particularly, the question is asked whether community's stock of social capital influence individual's health. LÄS MER
22. The hematopoietic transcription factor RUNX1 : a structural view
Sammanfattning : The malfunction of the transcriptional regulator RUNX1 is the major cause of several variants of acute human leukemias and its normal function is to regulate the development of the blood system in concert with other transcriptional co-regulators. RUNX1 belongs to a conserved family of heterodimeric transcription factors that share a conserved DNA binding domain, the Runt domain (RD), named after the first member of this group – Runt - found in Drosophila melanogaster. 23. Properties and analysis of dioxin-like compounds in marine samples from Sweden
Sammanfattning : Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs), and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) have been assigned toxic equivalency factors (TEFs). These compounds are today routinely analysed with sophisticated analytical techniques. LÄS MER
24. Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis applied to LWR neutronic and thermal-hydraulic calculations
Sammanfattning : The deterministic modeling of LWRs begins with the computation of energy‐collapsed and homogenizedmacroscopic cross‐sections by means of a lattice code. Once these parameters are functionalized as a functionof the reactor state variables and discretized in space, they are used as input variables by core simulators inorder to calculate the spatial distribution of the neutron flux and thus, the spatial distribution of the power. 25. Dynamics of Coinfection : Complexity and Implications
Sammanfattning : Living beings are always on risk from multiple infectious agents in individual or in groups. Though multiple pathogens' interactions have widely been studied in epidemiology. Despite being well known, the co-existence of these pathogens and their coinfection remained a mystery to be uncovered. LÄS MER
