  1. 1. Environmental Assessment and Strategic Technology Choice : The Case of Renewable Transport Fuels

    Författare :Karl Hillman; Björn Sandén; Ken Green; Göteborg Chalmers Tekniska Högskola Miljösystemanalys Institutionen för energi och miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; environmental assessment; life cycle assessment LCA ; socio-technical change; strategic technology choice; renewable fuels;

    Sammanfattning : The scale of the required changes is huge, and time is limited if we are to avoid the most severe effects of climate change. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from road transport, several fuels and electricity originating from renewable energy sources have been proposed, all of them in different stages of development and with various and shifting environmental impacts. 2. 2. Life Cycle Assessment of Present and Future Marine Fuels

    Författare :Selma Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LCA; marine fuels; environmental impact; LNG; biofuels; heavy fuel oil; Life Cycle Assessment; marine gas oil; liquefied natural gas;

    Sammanfattning : Interest in new fuels for marine propulsion is growing, mainly as a result of stricter environmental regulations but also due to increased attention to air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and the uncertainty of future oil supply. Several different fuels and exhaust abatement technologies are proposed for marine transportation, all of which have different advantages and disadvantages in relation to the environment and human health. 3. 3. Multiscale modeling of nitride fuels

    Författare :Antoine Claisse; Pär Olsson; Janne Wallenius; Per Söderlind; Paul Blair; Paul Erhart; Natalia Skorodumova; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Uranium Nitride Ab Initio Modelling; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Nitride fuels have always been considered a good candidate for GENIV reactors, as well as space reactors, due to their high fissile density, highthermal conductivity and high melting point. In these concepts, not beingcompatible with water is not a significant problem. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cost and financing of the sustainability transition of the Swedish road freight transport sector

    Författare :Elmira Parviziomran; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Godstransporter; Hållbar utveckling; Fossila bränslen; Fordon; Kostnader; Finansiering; Batterier; Sustainable development; Electric batteries; Vehicles; Freight and freightage; Fossil fuels; Sustainability transition; Decarbonization; Heavy-duty vehicles; Cost; Financing; Battery; Circular economy; Diesel fuels;

    Sammanfattning : The cost and financing of the road freight sector’s sustainability transition, driven by significant greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and cost considerations, represent an urgent yet underexplored research focus. This study investigates the costs of fleet replacement with zero-emission powertrains, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), emphasizing cost variables that have been overlooked in transition research. 5. 5. Emission and Deposit Formation in Direct Injection Stratified Charge SI Engines

    Författare :Håkan Sandquist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cycle-resolved measurements; deposit formation; direct injection; stratified charge; hydrocarbon emissions; SI engines; fuels;

    Sammanfattning : A promising approach to increase the efficiency of the spark ignition (SI) engine is to inject the fuel directly into the cylinder to form a stratified charge. There is a potential to reduce the fuel consumption at low speeds and loads by 20 - 25% compared with conventional SI engines with stoichiometric homogeneous charge. LÄS MER
