1. Low Frequency Impact Sound in Timber Buildings : Simulations and Measurements
Sammanfattning : An increased share of construction with timber is one possible way of achieving more sustainable and energy-efficient life cycles of buildings. The main reason is that wood is a renewable material and buildings require a large amount of resources. LÄS MER
2. Learning flow functions : architectures, universal approximation and applications to spiking systems
Sammanfattning : Learning flow functions of continuous-time control systems is considered in this thesis. The flow function is the operator mapping initial states and control inputs to the state trajectories, and the problem is to find a suitable neural network architecture to learn this infinite-dimensional operator from measurements of state trajectories. 3. Non-Suicidal Self-Injury in Swedish Adolescents : Prevalence, Characteristics, Functions and Associations With Childhood Adversities
Sammanfattning : Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), such as intentionally cutting, burning or hitting oneself, is a behavior with potentially detrimental consequences and empirical studies are necessary to gain knowledge of how to prevent NSSI in adolescents. The aims of this thesis were to investigate the prevalence, methods, characteristics and functions of NSSI in a large community sample of Swedish adolescents, and to examine the relationship between NSSI and adverse life events and trauma symptoms. 4. Low Frequency Impact Sound in Timber Buildings : Transmission Measurements and Simulations
Sammanfattning : An increased share of multi-story buildings that have timber structures entails potential in terms of increased sustainability as well as human-friendly manufacturing and habitation. Timber buildings taller than two stories were prohibited in Europe until the 1990s due to fire regulations. In 1994, this prohibition was removed in Sweden. LÄS MER
5. Nonlinear Structural Identification Using a Multi-Harmonic Frequency Response Functions
Sammanfattning : In industrial structural dynamics problems, linear FE-models commonly serve to represent the global structural behavior. However, when test data are available they often show evidence of nonlinear dynamic characteristics. In that case, an initial linear model may be judged insufficient in representing the dynamics of the structure. LÄS MER
