  1. 1. Ash Products for Nutrient Recycling in Forestry : Leaching and Drying Characteristics

    Författare :Peter Mellbo; Tommy Claesson; Sirkku Sarenbo; Hans Samuelsson; Högskolan i Kalmar; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Ash products; Wood ash; Leaching; Drying; Nutrient; ; Sustainable forestry; Forestry; Skogsskötsel; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : As the demand for carbon dioxide neutral energy sources increases, forestry becomes more intensive. Entire trees are removed from the felling sites threatening the nutrient balance of the forest soils. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Automation in forestry : development of unmanned forwarders

    Författare :Ola Ringdahl; Thomas Hellström; Tomas Nordfjell; Arto Visala; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Forest engineering; Skogsteknik; computer and systems sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : For the last 50 year, forestry operations have become more and more mechanized. In modern forestry in Europe two machines are typically used; a harvester that fells, debranches and cross-cuts the trees into logs and a forwarder that transports them to the nearest road. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Som man ropar i skogen : Modernitet, makt och mångfald i kampen om Njakafjäll och i den svenska skogsbruksdebatten 1970-2000

    Författare :Ebba Lisberg Jensen; Humanekologi; []

    Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, the Swedish forestry debate during the last three decades of the 20th century is analysed. The contents, values and underlying assumptions of the debate are investigated from a discoursive point of view. Ideals, methods and aesthetics are analysed, as they have been expressed throughout the debate. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Gendered Performances in Swedish Forestry : Negotiating Subjectivities in Women-Only Networks

    Författare :Emmeline Laszlo Ambjörnsson; Anna Storm; Gunnel Forsberg; Natasha Webster; Maureen Reed; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; gender; femininity; female masculinity; feminist geography; feminist political ecology; environmental governance; forestry; neoliberalisation; collective action; postfeminism; spatiality; rurality; Sweden; Geography with Emphasis on Human Geography; geografi med kulturgeografisk inriktning;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental resource use is intimately intertwined with gendered power relations. Overarching ideals, governance and management are shaped by the negotiation and performance of gendered subjectivities. This thesis identifies and analyses key features of such negotiations and performances in the context of contemporary Swedish forestry. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Towards semi-automation of forestry cranes : automated trajectory planning and active vibration damping

    Författare :Szabolcs Fodor; Leonid Freidovich; Carlos Vázquez; Anton Shiriaev; Torben Ole Andersen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Forestry; forwarder cranes; semi-automation; slewing actuator; automated trajectory planning; oscillations; inner boom actuator; active vibration damping; frequency estimation; input shaping control technique; H2-optimal control;

    Sammanfattning : Forests represent one of the biggest terrestrial ecosystems of Earth, that can produce important raw renewable materials such as wood with the help of sun, air and water. To efficiently extract these raw materials, the tree harvesting process is highly mechanized in developed countries, meaning that advanced forestry machines are continuously used to fell, to process and to transport the logs and biomass obtained from the forests.
