  1. 1. Magnetic resonance imaging in breast diagnosis

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Surgical Science

    Författare :Maria KristoffersenWiberg; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MRI; breast; triple diagnosis; FNAB; size; scintimammography.;

    Sammanfattning : MRI of the breast has, since the introduction of gadolinium contrast agents, been increasingly used in breast investigations. MRI has been found to have a high sensitivity but a low specificity in cancer detection. The aim of this thesis was to study and establish the role of MRI in the clinical diagnosis of breast lesions. 2. 2. Comparison of stereotactic fine needle aspiration biopsy and core needle biopsy in breast lesions

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Surgical Science

    Författare :Karin Leifland; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of two biopsy methods by comparing stereotactic fine needle aspiration biopsy (S-FNAB) with stereotactic core needle biopsy (S-CNB). The biopsies were performed by the same radiologist, in the same breast lesion on the same occasion, in order to establish which method that best can be recommended in different kind of mammographically detected lesions.     Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract The aim of this project on soft tissue tumors, was to evaluate existing imaging methods and test new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) sequences for diagnosis and assessment of cytotoxic therapy and to relate the imaging studies to cytology to explore the limitations of each procedure. Patients and method The studies were based on patients with a soft tissue lesion diagnosed and treated at the Orthopedic Tumor Service at the Karolinska Hospital 1990-2003. LÄS MER
