  1. 1. Förhandling pågår : en studie av internationella skidförbundets (FIS) medialisering

    Författare :Marit Stub Nybelius; Susanna Hedenborg; Göran Eriksson; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mediatisation; FIS; International ski federation; media logic; mediatization; mediation; FIS; medialisering; media; längdåkning; backhoppning; medievänlig; institutionella; Intercultural Studies; Interkulturella studier;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to problematise and illustrate mediatisation of the International Ski Federation (FIS). To fulfil this purpose, I based my work on the following questions:1. What perceptions do sport journalists and those within the FIS have of the relationship between the FIS and the media? 2. 2. 2. Experimental Evolution : and Fitness Effects of Mutations

    Författare :Anna Knöppel; Dan I Andersson; Stanley Maloy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Experimental evolution; Fitness effects; mutations; S20; fis; ribosome; horizontal gene transfer; adaptation; synonymous mutations; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Bacteria have small, streamlined genomes and evolve rapidly. Their large population sizes allow selection to be the main driver of evolution. With advances in sequencing technologies and precise methods for genetic engineering, many bacteria are excellent models for studying elementary questions in evolutionary biology. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Occupational exposure to fluorinated ski wax

    Författare :Helena Nilsson; Jonathan W. Martin; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perfluorinated; polyfluorinated; FIS; occupational exposure; ski wax; biotransformation; metabolism; fluorotelomer alcohol; fluorotelomer acid; aerosol; dust; UPLC MS-MS; GC MS-MS; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) are used in the production of ski wax to reduce the friction between the snow and the ski. In this occupational study of ski wax technicians’ exposure to PFAS and particulate aerosol we have collected whole blood (wb) (n =94), air (n =84) and aerosol (n =159) samples at World Cup events from 2007-2011. 4. 4. Competitive performance prediction of elite alpine skiers

    Författare :Robert Nilsson; Christer B. Malm; Apostolos Theos; Ann-Sofie Lindberg; Richard A. Ferguson; Örjan Ekblom; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Competitive performance; FIS points; alpine skiing; alpine skiers; physiological test results; anthropometric variables; multivariate data analysis; multivariate statistics; principal component analysis; orthogonal projections to latent structures; individual profiling; Sports Medicine; idrottsmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: The overall aim of this doctoral thesis was to identify physiological and anthropometric variables valid for prediction of competitive performance in alpine skiing (indicated by FIS points).Method: Paper I-III in this doctoral thesis followed an experimental, hypothesis-generating design which included both junior and senior elite alpine skiers. 5. 5. Fatigue, functional status, health and pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

    Författare :Kersti Theander; Mitra Unosson; Berit Lundman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; fatigue; functional status; health; pulmonary rehabilitation; Fatigue impact scale; confirmatory factor analysis; Nursing; Omvårdnad;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to describe fatigue, functional limitations due to fatigue and health in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as to compare patients with individuals from the general population and to test if pulmonary rehabilitation can reduce fatigue and functional limitations, and thus improve health. A further aim was to test the Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS) among patients with COPD. LÄS MER
