  1. 1. Endothelial differentiation and angiogenesis regulation

    Författare :Johan Dixelius; Björn Olsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Angiogenesis; VEGFR-3; Laminin; endostatin; FGF-2; b-catenin; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Molecular Medicine; molekylär medicin genetik och patologi ;

    Sammanfattning : Angiogenesis can be defined as the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones. Angiogenesis is required for development and maintenance of our vascular system and thus of fundamental importance to our existence. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Roles of the Shb and Cbl Proteins in Signal Transduction and Blood Vessel Formation

    Författare :Lingge Lu; Michael Welsh; Lars Holgren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Shb; Cbl; FGF-2; NGF; PDGF; VEGF; VEGFR-2; differentiation; blood vessel formation; PC12 cells; endothelial cells; embryoid bodies; Rap1; CrkII; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Formation of blood vessels occurs through two processes: vasculogenesis and angiogenesis, which are regulated by various growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor, fibroblast growth factor and platelet-derived growth factor. The present study was carried out in order to investigate the roles of the Shb and Cbl proteins in growth factor-mediated signal transduction and blood vessel formation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Molecular Mechanisms in Endothelial Cell Differentiation

    Författare :Emma Rennel; Pär Gerwins; Lena Claesson-Welsh; Ian Zachary; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pathology; angiogenesis; FGF-2; VEGF-A; signal transduction; in vitro angiogenesis assay; immortalized brain endothelial cells; H-Ras; tetracycline-regulated gene expression; microarray; telomerase immortalized human microvascular endothelial cells; differentiation; Patologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Angiogenesis is the formation of new blood vessels from the pre-existing blood vessels. Blood vessels are composed of endothelial cells and supporting musculature. Angiogenesis is regulated by numerous soluble ligands and by cell-matrix interactions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Human Endometrial Angiogenesis : An Immunohistochemical Study of the Endometrial Expression of Angiogenic Growth Factors and Their Corresponding Receptors

    Författare :Björn Möller; Matts Olovsson; Bo Lindblom; Kristina Gemzell-Danielsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Human endometrium; angiogenesis; menstrual cycle; endothelial cells; immunohistochemistry; western blot; VEGF; VEGFR; FGF-2; FGFR; EGF; EGFR; levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The human endometrium undergoes dramatic changes in morphology and function during the menstrual cycle. Recurrent angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) is of utmost importance for oxygen supply and nourishment of the rapidly growing endometrial tissue. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Collateral development in limb ischemia : Aspects of endogenous and stimulated arteriogenesis

    Författare :Ulrika Palmer Kazen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; PAD; CLI; intermittent claudication; VEGF; FGF-2; angiogenesis; arteriogenesis; gene therapy; adenovirus; AdFGF-4; rat hindlimb ischemia model; randomized clinical trial;

    Sammanfattning : Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is common among elderly and affects about 20% of the population above the age of 60 years. PAD is a strong marker for future cardiovascular events and increased mortality due to widespread atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary and cerebral arteries. LÄS MER
