21. Evaluation of Gasoline PPC in a Multi-cylinder Engine : Capabilities & Challenges
Sammanfattning : Internal combustion engines have been the most used engine design when it comes to vehicle propulsion and transportation. But as the number of vehicles increase, new problems arise as well. LÄS MER
22. On Zero-dimensional Modelling of Combustion and NOx Formation in Diesel Engines
Sammanfattning : Diesel engine developers are facing major challenges when meeting future demands on NOx and particulate emissions. The exhausts after treatment systems are rapidly improving and the technologies available in a few years will be capable of cutting emission levels close to the demanded levels. LÄS MER
23. Study and Development of Techniques to Improve Engine Stability and Reduce Emissions from Natural Gas Engines
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to find ways to improve combustion and reduce emissions from supercharged natural gas engines. In-cylinder flow measurements were made with laser doppler velocimetry, LDV, heat release was calculated from cylinder pressures and emissions were measured at various locations. LÄS MER
24. In-Cylinder Fluid Flow, Fuel Preparation and Combustion in SI Engines - Application of Optical Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : In this thesis laser-based measurements of in-cylinder flow and fuel concentrations in two stroke and direct injected four-stroke engines are presented. The major problem with the carburetted two-stroke engine is the short-circuiting of fuel that occurs during the scavenging phase. This leads to large emissions of unburned hydrocarbons. LÄS MER
25. Model Based Optimization of a Complete Diesel Engine/SCR System
Sammanfattning : Achieving upcoming emissions legislation (Euro VI) for heavy trucks is a serious challenge for the manufacturers. Apart from the increasingly strict limits on nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate emissions (PM), the limited amount of fossil fuels as well as alarming climate changes simultaneously drives the demand for low CO2 emissions.
