11. Development and Application of Pure Rotational CARS for Reactive Flows
Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with the further development of pure rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (RCARS) for improving the capabilities of gas phase thermometry. The main effort has been to make the technique more robust when employed under a wide range of temperatures and operational conditions. LÄS MER
12. Development of Dual-broadband Rotational CARS for Combustion Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : The present thesis concerns development and application of dual-broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (DB-RCARS) for temperature and species concentration measurements in combustion processes. Both fundamental development of the technique, including experimental as well as modelling results, and measurements in practical combustion devices were conducted. LÄS MER
13. Two-Line Atomic Fluorescence for Thermometry in Reactive Flows
Sammanfattning : Advances in the field of laser-based combustion diagnostics over the past decades have allowed for detailed characterisation, modelling and increased understanding of the complex combustion process. However; many combustion phenomena are still unexplained and there is a continued need for development and application of diagnostic tools to further the understanding of the combustion process. 14. Development and Application of Rotational Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy and Laser-induced Fluorescence for Combustion Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : The thesis concerns the development and application of two laser-based methods for combustion diagnostics: dual broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). In efforts to increase the usefulness of the CARS technique, the applicability of a method involving a combination of the rotational CARS technique and the closely related vibrational CARS technique was investigated. 15. Kinetic investigations of combustion of small oxygenated aliphatic hydrocarbons – modeling and experiments
Sammanfattning : The depletion of oil reserves and the increasingly stringent European Union regulation of air pollution have forced researchers and manufacturers to search for cleaner and sustainable substitutes to petroleum‐based transportation fuels. Biofuels like small aliphatic alcohols are of increasing interest as alternatives to fossil fuels, as they offer long‐term fuel‐source regenerability. LÄS MER
