1. Cost-effective Communication and Control Architectures for Active Low Voltage Grids
Sammanfattning : The monitoring and control of low voltage distribution grids has historically been disregarded due to the unidirectional flow of power. However, nowadays the massive integration of distributed energy resources into distribution grids, such as solar photovoltaics, distributed storage, electric vehicles and demand response programs, presents some challenges. 2. Monolithic Integrated Oscillators - Phase Noise Analysis and Inductor Modeling
Sammanfattning : This doctoral dissertation studies voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) that operate at low supply voltages. Due to smaller transistor sizes and lower supply voltage ratings with every new CMOS technology, voltage headroom is diminishing. LÄS MER
3. Component and system design of a mild hybrid 48 V powertrain for a light vehicle
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents contributions in three areas relevant for the development of 48 V mild hybrid electric powertrains for cars. The first part comprises methodologies and extensive testing of lithium-ion battery cells in order to establish the electric and thermal performance using equivalent circuit models. LÄS MER
4. Search for Dark Matter and Extra Dimensions in Monojet Final States with the ATLAS Experiment
Sammanfattning : The CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the most powerful particle ac- celerator ever built, in terms of luminosity and center-of-mass energy of the collisions. This thesis presents a search for Dark Matter and Extra Dimen- sions in the proton-proton collisions as recorded by the ATLAS detector. LÄS MER
5. Analysis and Control Aspects of Brushless Induction Machines with Rotating Power Electronic Converters
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the steady-state, dynamic and control aspects of new type of brushless configuration of a doubly-fed induction machine in which the slip rings and carbon brushes are replaced by rotating power electronics and a rotating exciter. The aim is to study the stability of this novel configuration of the generator under mechanical and grid disturbances for wind power applications. LÄS MER
