    Sammanfattning : In the beginning of 2005, the ministry of natural resources in the Kurdistan region of Iraq dividedits territory into more than 50 oil blocks based on geological setting. These oil blocks were awardedlater to different international oil companies for oil investments based on Production SharingContracts (PSCs). LÄS MER

  2. 12. Integrated analyses and interpretations of regional scale magnetotelluric and potential field data from the Precambrian crust of northern Sweden

    Författare :Roshanak Vadoodi; Thorkild Maack Rasmussen; Maxim Smirnov; Björn H. Heincke; Luleå tekniska universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The Norrbotten region in northern Sweden, as a part of the Fennoscandian (Baltic) Shield, is one of the most active mining areas in Europe. It is acknowledged that geological structures such as faults, shear zones, and associated fracture systems play a key role in providing a physical pathway connecting metal sources and the sites of mineral precipitation. 3. 13. Three-Dimensional Modelling and Inversion of DC resistivity and Time Domain EM data using Multi-Resolution Framework

    Författare :Jingyu Gao; Thorkild Maack Rasmussen; Maxim Smirnov; Bülent Tezkan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DC Resistivity; time-domain electromagnetic; forward modelling; data inversion; Prospekteringsgeofysik; Exploration Geophysics;

    Sammanfattning : 3-D forward modelling and inversion techniques play an important role in data interpretation, but they are still computationally challenging tasks. Therefore, this thesis aims to improve forward modelling and inversion performance using novel multi-resolution (MR) grid approach. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Geophysical vectoring of mineralized systems in northern Norrbotten

    Författare :Roshanak Vadoodi; Thorkild Maack Rasmussen; Maxim Smirnov; Behrooz Oskooi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Magnetotelluric; Electrical Conductivity; Potential Field; 3D Inversion; Mineralisation; Classification; Self-Organizing Map SOM ; Exploration Geophysics; Prospekteringsgeofysik;

    Sammanfattning : The Fennoscandian Shield as a part of a large Precambrian basement area is located in northern Europe and hosts economically important mineral deposits including base metals and precious metals. Regional geophysical data such as potential field and magnetotelluric data in combination with other geoscientific data contain information of importance for an understanding of the crustal and upper mantle structure.     Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geofysik; Applied Geophysics;

    Sammanfattning : Water is essential for all life on the planet, sustaining and ensuring the earth’s ecosystem. Groundwater from a global perspective provides about 50 % of the potable water, 40 % of the industrial water and 20 % of the irrigation water. LÄS MER
