21. Application of the Fluoresecence Lidar Techniques in the Architectural Heritage
Sammanfattning : The primary aim of the research project is to analyse the potential for the application of lidar and fluorescence techniques in building investigation, and also to establish a scientific remote-sensing method for surveying and analysing the historical facade that is non-destructive and can be used in-situ. The fluorescence lidar method uses point-monitoring and scanning of areas that can provide multispectral images in order to identify materials, biodeteriogens and other substances not visible to the human eye. 22. Graphene Heat Spreaders for Electronics Thermal Management Applications
Sammanfattning : Graphene shows great potential for applications in electronics due to its outstanding physical properties such as extremely high electron mobility, high thermal conductivity, high Young’s modulus and very high surface-to-volume ratio. Among these attractive properties, the high intrinsic thermal conductivity is a critical advantage for the application of graphene in electronics to alleviate heat dissipation problems. LÄS MER
23. Dissolution Kinetics and Alteration Products of Micas and Epidote in Acidic Solutions at Room Temperature
Sammanfattning : The reaction kinetics of the weathering of several phyllosilicates and one sorosilicate were stud ied experimentally. The alteration products were characterised by various methods in clud ing XRD, HRTEM, SEM, FTIR, NMR and Mössbauer spectroscopy. LÄS MER
24. Carbon Based Materials Synthesis and Characterization for 3D Integrated Electronics
Sammanfattning : 3D IC packaging technology extends Moore’s law and shifts the IC field into a new generation of smaller, but more powerful devices. Interconnection and thermal management as two critical parts of 3D IC integration packaging, are facing harsh challenges due to the miniaturization of IC devices. LÄS MER
25. Exploring Biopolymer-Clay Nanocomposite Materials by Molecular Modelling
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, bio-nanocomposites made from two alternative biopolymers and montmorillonite (Mnt) clay have been investigated by molecular modelling. These biopolymers are xyloglucan (XG) and chitosan (CHS), both of which are abundant, renewable, and cost-effective. LÄS MER
