  1. 1. On LQG-Optimal Event-Based Sampling

    Författare :Marcus Thelander Andrén; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Event-based control; LQG control; sampled-data control; Stochastic control; Event-based PID control; Event-based state estimation; stochastic triggering;

    Sammanfattning : Event-based control is a promising concept for the design of resource-efficient feedback systems, where events such as sampling, actuation, and data transmissions are triggered reactively based on monitored control performance rather than a periodic timer. In this thesis, we investigate how sampling and communication events should be triggered to fully exploit the potential of event-based control based on the classic linear–quadratic–Gaussian (LQG) framework. 2. 2. Event Based Sampling with Application to Spectral Estimation

    Författare :Niclas Persson; Fredrik Gustafsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Event based sampling; Time based sampling; Tire pressure monitoring system;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis event based sampling, estimation of a single resonance frequency and the application indirect tire pressure monitoring system are studied.Event based sampling is an alternative to traditional uniform or equidistant sampling. In event based sampled systems, signals are sampled only when certain pre-defined events take place. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Stochastic Event-Based Control and Estimation

    Författare :Toivo Henningsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; event-based control; event-based estimation; sporadic control; stochastic control; stochastic hybrid systems; sum-of-squares methods; control over networks; quantized measurements;

    Sammanfattning : Digital controllers are traditionally implemented using periodic sampling, computation, and actuation events. As more control systems are implemented to share limited network and CPU bandwidth with other tasks, it is becoming increasingly attractive to use some form of event-based control instead, where precious events are used only when needed. 4. 4. Non-Uniform Sampling in Statistical Signal Processing

    Författare :Frida Eng; Fredrik Gustafsson; Paulo Ferreira; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; signal processing; sampling; stochastic analysis; frequency transform; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Non-uniform sampling comes natural in many applications, due to for example imperfect sensors, mismatched clocks or event-triggered phenomena. Examples can be found in automotive industry and data communication as well as medicine and astronomy. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Benefits of Pharmacometric Model-Based Design and Analysis of Clinical Trials

    Författare :Kristin E Karlsson; E Niclas Jonsson; Mats O Karlsson; Anders Grahnén; Michael K Smith; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; model-based analysis; pharmacometrics; modeling; disease progression; NONMEM; SAEM; Importance sampling; repeated time-to-event; RTTCE; RCEpT; NIH stroke scale; Barthel index; internal validation; external validation; study power; study design; PHARMACY; FARMACI; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Quantitative pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic and disease progression models are the core of the science of pharmacometrics which has been identified as one of the strategies that can make drug development more effective. To adequately develop and utilize these models one needs to carefully consider the nature of the data, choice of appropriate estimation methods, model evaluation strategies, and, most importantly, the intended use of the model.
