  1. 11. On the topology of the coamoeba

    Författare :Petter Johansson; Håkan Samuelsson; Eva Maria Feichtner; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coamoeba; Ronkin function; matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study the topology and geometry of the coamoeba of an algebraic variety V. The strategy that we use is to relate the coamoebas corresponding to the initial varieties of V to the coamoeba of V. We also define an analogue of the Ronkin function for the coamoeba and give an explicit formula for it.. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Ischaemic heart disease - risk assessment, diagnosis, and secondary preventive treatment in primary care : with special reference to the relevance of exercise ECG

    Författare :Gunnar Nilsson; Eva Samuelsson; Thomas Mooe; Per Wändell; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Exercise ECG; Ischaemic heart disease; Myocardial infarction; Prehospital delay; Primary care; Prognosis; Referral; Statin; Secondary prevention; Arbets-EKG; hjärtinfarkt; ischemisk hjärtsjukdom; sekundärprevention; Family Medicine; allmänmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Ischaemic heart disease is a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge to most general practitioners. We sought to identify diagnostic characteristics and prognoses of patients in primary care that received exercise electrocardiography (ECG). We compared the ECG test results with respect to probability of subsequent cardiologist referrals. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Self-Management of Urinary Incontinence Using eHealth : clinically relevant improvement, treatment effect and factors associated with success

    Författare :Emma Nyström; Eva Samuelsson; Malin Sjöström; Guri Rørtveit; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Urinary incontinence; pelvic floor muscle training; eHealth; self-management; quality of life; randomised controlled trial; Family Medicine; allmänmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Urinary incontinence is common among women, with prevalence most often reported to be between 25% and 45%. The most common type is stress urinary incontinence (SUI), defined as leakage upon exertion. First-line treatment includes pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) and lifestyle advice. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Radon in natural waters : Analytical Methods; Correlation to Environmental Parameters; Radiation Dose Estimation; and GIS Applications

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radon analysis; radiation effects; Water chemistry; Water pollution; radioactive analysis; Radiological physics; Radiofysik;

    Sammanfattning : Investigations of radon in natural water and its relation to physical and chemical parameters are outlined in this thesis. In particular, a method for measuring 222Rn in water at low concentrations (~20 mBq. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Internet-based treatment of stress urinary incontinence : treatment outcome, patient satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness

    Författare :Malin Sjöström; Eva Samuelsson; Göran Umefjord; Lars Lindholm; Steinar Hunskår; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Stress urinary incontinence; Internet; randomised controlled trial; pelvic floor muscle training; self care; quality of life; qualitative research; cost-utility analysis; validation study; Family Medicine; allmänmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is the leakage of urine when coughing, sneezing, or on exertion. It affects 10-35% of women, and can impair quality of life (QOL). First-line treatment is pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT). However, access barriers and embarrassment may prevent women from seeking care. LÄS MER
