   Sammanfattning : Tissue factor (TF) is the initiator of the coagulation cascade. Monocytes do not normally express TF, but can be induced to do so by certain stimuli. Aberrant TF expression is important in the thrombotic complications of bacterial sepsis, certain malignancies and coronary artery disease (CAD). LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to identify fall risk individuals (+55) after stroke by validating a fall risk index and in post-stroke individuals with high risk of falls evaluate the impact of an intervention program on fall risk factors.A previously developed fall risk index was validated, modified and re-validated.    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to expand the knowledge about sexual and reproductive health among urban Ugandan youths, living in a slum, and to evaluate the national flow-chart for management of the abnormal vaginal discharge (AVD) syndrome in adolescent girls. Data collection included individual interviews, focus-group discussions and clinical investigations with tests for chlamydia trachomatis (CT), neisseria gonorrhoea (NG), trichomonas vaginalis (TV), syphilis, and HIV infection.
