18. Emergency presentation of colon cancer
Sammanfattning : Colon cancer is the second most common form of non-skin cancer in Sweden for men and women respectively. Up to one fourth of all colon cancer cases are reported to present as emergencies, which is associated with a higher postoperative mortality and a lower 5 year survival, and affects the total survival in the colon cancer group. Sammanfattning : This research project was begun during the financial crisis of 2009 with the objective of increasing the competiveness of SMEs’ (Small and Medium sized Enterprises) by developing their innovation-management capabilities. Sammanfattning : The overall aims of this thesis were to investigate the incidence of inflammatory bowel disease in the Uppsala Region of Sweden, to study the clinical course and the impact of the disease with regards to complications.Patients in Uppsala County were included in the study from the 1st of January 2005 and patients in Falun, Eskilstuna and Åland counties from the 1st of January 2007.
