  1. 1. The exchange of sensible and latent heat over the sea

    Författare :Erik Sahlée; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Boundary-layer; Air-sea interaction; turbulent fluxes; parameterization; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Analysis of the neutral exchange coefficients for latent and sensible heat, CEN and CHN, based on measurements from the Östergarnsholms site in the Baltic Sea has been made. The data set used for the CHN study was based on the very accurate MIUU-instrument. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fluxes of Sensible and Latent Heat and Carbon Dioxide in the Marine Atmospheric Boundary Layer

    Författare :Erik Sahlée; Ann-Sofi Smedman; Anna Rutgersson; Sören Larsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Meteorology; Sensible heat flux; Latent heat flux; Carbon dioxide; Turbulent exchange; Global heat fluxes; Marine boundary layer; Air-sea interaction; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Oceans cover about 70% of the earth’s surface. They are the largest source of the atmospheric water vapour and act as enormous heat reservoirs. Thus in order to predict the future weather and climate it is of great importance to understand the processes governing the exchange of water vapour and heat between the ocean and atmosphere. 3. 3. Mechanisms controlling air-sea gas exchange in the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Lucía Gutiérrez-Loza; Anna Rutgersson; Erik Sahlée; Marcus Wallin; John Prytherch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Air-sea gas exchange; Baltic Sea; CO2 flux; methane flux;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon plays a major role in physical and biogeochemical processes in the atmosphere, the biosphere, and the ocean. CO2 and CH4 are two of the most common carbon-containing compounds in the atmosphere, also recognized as major greenhouse gases. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Gas Exchange over Aquatic Interfaces and its Importance for Greenhouse Gas Emission

    Författare :Jovana Kokic; Sebastian Sobek; Erik Sahlée; Marcus B. Wallin; Anne Ojala; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES; gas exchange; lake; stream; lake sediment; headwaters; carbon dioxide; methane; greenhouse gas emission; carbon; turbulence; Biology with specialization in Limnology; Biologi med inriktning mot limnologi;

    Sammanfattning : Aquatic ecosystems play a substantial role in global cycling of carbon (C), despite covering only about 4% of the earth surface. They emit large amounts of greenhouse gases (GHG) to the atmosphere, comparable to the amount of C stored annually in terrestrial ecosystems. In addition, C can be buried in lake sediments. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Air-Sea Fluxes of CO2 : Analysis Methods and Impact on Carbon Budget

    Författare :Maria Norman; Anna Rutgersson; Erik Sahlée; William Drennan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; air-sea exchange; carbon dioxide; Baltic Sea; eddy-covariance method; inertial dissipation method; cospectral-peak method; Baltic Sea measurements; CO2 fluxes; Galathea 3 expedition; Baltic Sea modeling; water-side convection; coastal upwelling; carbon budget; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important greenhouse gas, and the atmospheric concentration of CO2 has increased by more than 100 ppm since prior to the industrial revolution.  The global oceans are considered an important sink of atmospheric CO2, since approximately one third of the anthropogenic emissions are absorbed by the oceans.
