    Sammanfattning : The type I interferons (IFN) are a family of cytokines with pleiothropic activities that include inhibition of viral replication, cell proliferation and activation of the immune system.     Sammanfattning : Most electrical, magnetic or optical devices are today based on several, usually extremely thin layers of different materials.  In this thesis chemical synthesis processes have been developed for growth of less stable and metastable layers, and even multilayers, of nickel containing compounds.     Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis is to study the reasons behind the Swedish decision not to become a full member of the EEC in the 1960's and 1970's. During this period, Sweden adapted a so called contra-cyclical economic policy characterised by capital and exchange regulations and discriminating establishment rules against foreign citizens.
