1. Resource and Environmental Impacts of Resource-Efficiency Measures Applied to Electronic Products
Sammanfattning : Natural resources such as ecosystems, land, water and metals underpin the functioning of economies and human well-being, and are becoming increasingly scarce due to growth in population and affluence. Metals are increasingly demanded for their specific properties as modern technology develops. LÄS MER
2. Enhancing Environmental Performance by Green Procurement : A study of environmental procurement preferences in the construction industry
Sammanfattning : In recent years, the general awareness of the environmental impacts that industrial production gives rise to has radically increased throughout the world. Finding ways to minimise these impacts has become a major concern of the authorities in many countries. LÄS MER
3. Removal of Organic Micropollutants from Wastewater in Biofilm Systems
Sammanfattning : The presence of organic hazardous substances in the aquatic environment, such as pharmaceutically active compounds and personal care products, has become a worldwide issue of increasing environmental concern. Present at concentration of nano- to milligram per liter, they are defined as organic micropollutants (OMPs). LÄS MER
4. Contaminants of Emerging Concern in Swedish Freshwater Environments: Sources, Occurrence, and Impacts
Sammanfattning : Contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) is one of several reasons for the deterioration of surface water quality globally, even though the CECs occur in trace concentrations. This thesis produced new CEC data through a oneyear field study for substances which occur in Sweden’s three largest lakes and their associated rivers. LÄS MER
5. Wide-scope screening for contaminants of emerging concern in archived biota: Method development, suspect prioritisation, and non-target screening in a novel identification tool
Sammanfattning : Environmental monitoring of hazardous chemicals in wildlife conventionally uses target screening for selected contaminants, but relatively few contaminants are moni-tored and knowledge of potentially hazardous contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) in wildlife is lacking. In this thesis, a non-target screening (NTS) method com-bined with temporal trend analysis was developed and applied as a prioritisation tool for identification of CECs in top predators, using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS).
