17. Meniscal Tear - A Feature of Osteoarthritis
Sammanfattning : Meniscectomy is recognized as an important risk factor for the development of knee osteoarthritis (OA), a disease that traditionally has been considered as a simple "wear and tear" phenomenon. However, despite numerous reports, little evidence has been presented that a limited meniscal resection, compared with a more extensive resection, reduces the risk of OA by preserving meniscal function. 18. Molecular control of activity - dormancy transitions in Populus
Sammanfattning : Perennials such as woody plants, growing in the high northern part of the earth have to cope with seasonal changes alternating between mild summer and the harsh winter periods. To survive and adapt their reproductive phase to the most favorable environmental conditions trees cycle between periods of active growth during summer and a state of growth arrest during winter, referred to as the activity- dormancy cycle. 20. Profits and market adjustment : a study in the dynamics of production, productivity and rates of return
Sammanfattning : In a market economy the rate of return on capital plays a decisive role for resource allocation. High profits in an industry stimulate expansion of production in existing firms and entry of new firms. The product price will hence tend to fall, and in the long run there is a tendency for rates of profit to become equalized across industries. LÄS MER
