21. Determining and Optimizing the Current and Magnetic Field Dependence of Spin-Torque and Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators : Toward Next-Generation Nanoelectronic Devices and Systems
Sammanfattning : Spin-torque and spin Hall nano-oscillators are nanoscale devices (about 100 nm) capable of producing tunable broadband high-frequency microwave signals ranging from 0.1 GHz to over 65 GHz that several research groups trying to reach up to 200 - 300 GHz. LÄS MER
22. Carbon Based Materials Synthesis and Characterization for 3D Integrated Electronics
Sammanfattning : 3D IC packaging technology extends Moore’s law and shifts the IC field into a new generation of smaller, but more powerful devices. Interconnection and thermal management as two critical parts of 3D IC integration packaging, are facing harsh challenges due to the miniaturization of IC devices. LÄS MER
23. Transportation Mission-Based Optimization of Heavy Combination Road Vehicles and Distributed Propulsion, Including Predictive Energy and Motion Control
Sammanfattning : This thesis proposes methodologies to improve heavy vehicle design by reducing the total cost of ownership and by increasing energy efficiency and safety. Environmental issues, consumers expectations and the growing demand for freight transport have created a competitive environment in providing better transportation solutions. LÄS MER
24. Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar for Sea Ice Observations, Concentration and Dynamics
Sammanfattning : Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is the primary choice for sea ice monitoring due to its all-weather, day-and-night capability and regular delivery of high resolution images. This thesis presents methods for estimation of sea ice concentration and drift, a multi-sensor study of Baltic Sea ice radar signatures and an interferometric study of landfast sea ice. LÄS MER
25. Component and system design of a mild hybrid 48 V powertrain for a light vehicle
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents contributions in three areas relevant for the development of 48 V mild hybrid electric powertrains for cars. The first part comprises methodologies and extensive testing of lithium-ion battery cells in order to establish the electric and thermal performance using equivalent circuit models. LÄS MER
