16. Melt-processing and properties of thermoplastic composites based on ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer reinforced with wood nanocellulose
Sammanfattning : Composites reinforced with cellulose nanofibers (CNF), both modified and unmodified cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) and pulp fibers have been prepared through small-scale and large-scale methods. The composites were produced by water-assisted dispersion mixing, drying and compression moulding on the laboratory scale and by extrusion and injection moulding for the large-scale production. 17. Design, Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugated Polymers for Photovoltaics and Electrochromics
Sammanfattning : With the invention of organic electronics, a new class of materials needed to be explored and suitable applications found. The use as semiconductors in many different devices has been explored, where photovoltaics, light-emitting diodes and field-effect transistors have been prominent. LÄS MER
18. Transparent Wood Biocomposites for Sustainable Development
Sammanfattning : Sustainable wood nanotechnologies that combine optical transmittance and mechanical performance are interesting for new functionalities utilizing transparency. Wood is a sophisticated bio-based material with a natural hierarchical, anisotropic and porous structure. LÄS MER
19. Water-assisted mixing and compression moulding of ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer reinforced with nano-cellulose
Sammanfattning : The concerns regarding aspects of global warming, depleting oil resources, accumulation of plastics in landfills has served as motivation to move towards utilizing sustainable and renewable resources to fulfil our needs. In the present work, the reinforcing capabilities of cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and modified/unmodified cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) based composites prepared through water-assisted mixing, drying and compression moulding was explored. 20. Polyethylene/metal oxide nanocomposites for electrical insulation in future HVDC-cables : probing properties from nano to macro
Sammanfattning : Nanocomposites of polyethylene and metal oxide nanoparticles have shown to be a feasible approachto the next generation of insulation in high voltage direct current cables. In order to reach an operationvoltage of 1 MV new insulation materials with reduced conductivity and increased breakdown strengthas compared to modern low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is needed.
