21. A Needs-Based Approach towards Fostering Long-term Engagement with Energy Feedback among Local Residents
Sammanfattning : In order to reach the current climate goals, energy consumption needs to decrease in all sectors, including households, which produce 20% of the European emissions. However, it is difficult to increase residents’ engagement in their household electricity consumption as it is an ‘invisible’ form of energy, the monetary incentives are often too small and environmental incentives are not very effective. 22. Sustaining Sustainable Behaviours of Citizens by Creating Value in Their Everyday Life
Sammanfattning : Over 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions derive from household consumption patterns. To reach the 1.5-degree target set in the Paris Agreement, new interventions to influence household behaviours are needed. This thesis examined two areas, household electricity consumption and waste sorting, where behaviour plays a large role. LÄS MER
23. The development of methods for detection and assessment of safety critical events in car driving
Sammanfattning : Improving our knowledge of drivers behaviour, especially in hazardous situations is a key to understanding why accidents occur and how to improve safety on our roads. Crash surrogate measures have proven to be very useful in traffic safety analysis. LÄS MER
24. Lighting Control Systems for Energy Saving and User Acceptance: State-of-the-art and future directions
Sammanfattning : Lighting accounts for one-fifth of global electricity use. In Sweden, energy demand for lighting corresponds to 20% of the total electricity use in office buildings. Lighting retrofit measures are considered to be among the most cost-efficient way to reduce energy use in buildings. LÄS MER
25. Driver behavior models for evaluating automotive active safety: From neural dynamics to vehicle dynamics
Sammanfattning : The main topic of this thesis is how to realistically model driver behavior in computer simulations of safety critical traffic events, an increasingly important tool for evaluating automotive active safety systems. By means of a comprehensive literature review, it was found that current driver models are generally poorly validated on relevant near-crash behavior data. LÄS MER
