  1. 1. Diesel Engine Modeling for Engine Management System Development

    Författare :Markus Grahn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engine control; Diesel engines; Engine management system; Emissions; Simulation; Optimization; Modeling;

    Sammanfattning : Due to increasingly strict emission legislation and stronger demands on fuel consumption, typical passenger car diesel engines become increasingly complex with more and more controllable systems added. These added systems open up for the possibility to operate the engine at more efficient conditions, but it also becomes more challenging to optimize the settings in the engine management system. Sammanfattning : To meet increasingly strict emission legislation and stronger demands on fuel consumption, typical passenger car diesel engines become increasingly complex with more and more controllable systems added. 3. 3. Engine Thermal Management in Heavy Duty Vehicles

    Författare :Arne Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Control Simulation; Heat Exchangers; Heat Transfer; Thermal Management; Turbomachinery;

    Sammanfattning : Future regulations on noise and exhaust emissions have a large impact on heavy duty engine installations. Cooled EGR is used for NOx abatement. Better sealed engine encapsulations are used to meet new noise regulations. Engine thermal management is therefore becoming an increasingly important discipline. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Analysis and control of a hybrid vehicle powered by free-piston energy converter

    Författare :Jörgen Hansson; Mats Leksell; Chandur Sadarangani; Anders Malmquist; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; free-piston energy converter; FPEC; series hybrid electric vehicle; SHEV; power management; energy management; powertrain evaluation; equivalent consumption minimisation; ECMS; linear engine; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of hybrid powertrains has made it possible to utilise unconventional engines as primary power units in vehicles. The free-piston energy converter (FPEC) is such an engine. It is a combination of a free-piston combustion engine and a linear electrical machine. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Closed-Loop Combustion Control of a Multi Cylinder HCCI Engine using Variable Compression Ratio and Fast Thermal Management

    Författare :Göran Haraldsson; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CR; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Motors and propulsion systems; Teknik; Technological sciences; Closed-Loop Combustion Control; CLCC; Multi cylinder; HCCI; Black box; System identification; State feedback; PID; LQG; Fast Thermal Management; FTM; VCR Variable Compression Ratio;

    Sammanfattning : The current Spark Ignited (SI) engine equipped with three-way catalyst offers low emissions, but has low efficiency at part load, which results in unnecessarily high CO2 emissions. The Compression Ignited (CI) engines have higher efficiency and hence lower CO2 emissions, but suffer from higher Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions, and no three-way catalyst can be used.
