  1. 11. Assembling the Smart Grid : On the Mobilization of Imaginaries, Users and Materialities in a Swedish Demonstration Project

    Författare :Anna Wallsten; Harald Rohracher; Jonas Anshelm; Vasilis Galis; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Smart grids; demonstration projects; translations; sociotechnical imaginaries; material participation; users; Smarta elnät; demonstrationsprojekt; översättning; sociotekniska föreställningar; material participation; användare;

    Sammanfattning : Influential actors refer to smart grids as a revamped version of the energy systemwhen they argue for alternative energy pathways, and assign demonstration projects with the task of turning prospects about the future into functional configurations. This thesis explores notions of the smart grid future that are implicitly conveyed in Swedish smart grid strategy and planning documents. LÄS MER

  2. 12. A Needs-Based Approach towards Fostering Long-term Engagement with Energy Feedback among Local Residents

    Författare :Aram Mäkivierikko; Fredrik Gröndahl; Olga Kordas; Hossein Shahrokni; Paula M. Bögel; Cristian M Bogdan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy feedback; Consumer engagement; Energy behaviour; Social networks; Smart grids; Design principles; Energiåterkoppling; konsumentengagemang; Energibeteende; Sociala nätverk; Smarta elnät; Designprinciper; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : In order to reach the current climate goals, energy consumption needs to decrease in all sectors, including households, which produce 20% of the European emissions. However, it is difficult to increase residents’ engagement in their household electricity consumption as it is an ‘invisible’ form of energy, the monetary incentives are often too small and environmental incentives are not very effective. 3. 13. Inducing large-scale diffusion of innovation : An integrated actor- and system-level approach

    Författare :Ingrid Mignon; Anna Bergek; Johanna Nählinder; Volker Hoffmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Innovation; large-scale diffusion; adopters; actor; system; drivers; challenges; motives; strategies; policies; renewable electricity; technology; intermediaries;

    Sammanfattning : In order for the innovation process to be successful, not only do innovations need to be developed and reached the market, but, once they are available for users, they have to spread on a large scale. In the innovation literature, a complete explanation is lacking of why some innovations reach a phase of large-scale diffusion faster than others, including both actor- and system-level components. 4. 14. Positive Persuasion - Designing enjoyable energy feedback experiences in the home

    Författare :Anton Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy conservation; energy awareness; persuasive technology; sustainable HCI; ambient displays; pervasive games; serious games; engaging interaction; design; energy;

    Sammanfattning : The world currently faces huge challenges in terms of our excessive use of energy. Energy conservation – a topic that has been on the agenda since the energy crisis in the 1970s – has for this reason once again become a very central issue in our society. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Improved building energy simulations and verifications by regression

    Författare :Jimmy Vesterberg; Thomas Olofsson; Folke Björk; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Calibrated simulations; Energy signature; Regression; BES; IDA ICE; Multifamily buildings; EUI;

    Sammanfattning : It is common with significant differences between calculated and actual energy use in the building sector. These calculations are often performed with whole building energy simulation (BES) programs. In this process the analyst must make several assumptions about the studied building and its users. LÄS MER
