  1. 1. Urban Building Energy Modeling for Retrofit Scenarios : Development, Calibration, Validation and Implementation for Swedish Residential Buildings

    Författare :Fatemeh Johari; Joakim Widén; Darren Robinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban building energy modeling; Urban building energy retrofit; Urban energy system; Urban energy planning; Energy performance certificate; Energy efficiency; low-energy cities; Engineering Science with specialization in Civil Engineering and Built Environment; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot byggteknik och byggd miljö;

    Sammanfattning : The necessity for an accelerated transition of urban energy systems and, in particular, the building sector toward energy efficiency and carbon neutrality poses new challenges to planning and retrofitting existing buildings. To cope with these challenges, so-called urban building energy models (UBEMs) have been introduced for quantifying the energy demand in the building sector, identifying the hot spots of energy use and suggesting scenarios for retrofitting the buildings. 2. 2. Enabling industrial energy benchmarking : Process-level energy end-use, key performance indicators, and efficiency potential

    Författare :Elias Andersson; Patrik Thollander; Magnus Karlsson; Martin Patel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy efficiency; energy efficiency potential; energy benchmarking; manufacturing industry; key performance indicators; industrial energy end-use;

    Sammanfattning : One of the greatest challenges of our time is global climate change. A key strategy for mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases is the improvement of energy efficiency. Manufacturing industry stands for a large share of global energy end-use but has yet to achieve its full energy efficiency potential. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Energy Use, Efficiency Gains and Emission Abatement in Transitional Industrialised Economies: Poland and the Baltic States

    Författare :Jürgen Salay; Miljö- och energisystem; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of how energy use and air pollution in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have been affected by the economic transition after 1989. It consists of six articles, which examine three different aspects of these changes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dynamics of Energy Systems - Methods of analysing technology change

    Författare :Lena Neij; Internationella miljöinstitutet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy research; evaluation; market transformation; PV modules; wind power; experience curves; air-distribution; lighting; vintage models; sustainable energy; renewable energy; energy efficiency; Energy; energy system; Energiforskning; Environmental technology; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp;

    Sammanfattning : Technology change will have a central role in achieving a sustainable energy system. This calls for methods of analysing the dynamics of energy systems in view of technology change and policy instruments for effecting and accelerating technology change. In this thesis, such methods have been developed, applied, and assessed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Improved energy efficiency in industrial small and medium-sized enterprises : Regional energy efficiency network policy programs

    Författare :Ida Johansson; Patrik Thollander; Nawzad Mardan; Inger-Lise Svensson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Regional energy efficiency policy; Energy efficiency networks; Industrial SMEs; Barriers; Drivers; Energy management; Regional energipolicy; energieffektiviseringsnätverk; industriella SMF; hinder; drivkrafter; energiledning; inget Strategiskt forskningsområde SFO ; no Strategic Research Area SFO ;

    Sammanfattning : Despite large potential for improved energy efficiency in industrial small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the full potential is not realized due to barriers to energy efficiency. Two primary ways to realize the potential are to deploy energy management practices and conduct energy audits. LÄS MER
