  1. 1. Energy transition in transportation : Applying TIMES-based energy system optimisation models to sub-national levels

    Författare :Jonas Forsberg; Anna Krook-Riekkola; Andrea Toffolo; Åsa Lindman; Krister Sandberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy system analysis; ESOM; Transportation; Climate change; Air quality; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Transportation is embedded in the fabric of society and a key enabler of socio-economic development, but it is also a major source of carbon dioxide (CO2) and local air pollution (AP). Cities collectively account for around three quarters of total energy-related CO2 emissions, and the negative health impacts from local APs are most felt in dense urban environments. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On the road to climate neutral Swedish transportation: Energy system modelling to support the transition at national, regional, and local levels

    Författare :Jonas Forsberg; Anna Krook-Riekkola; Andrea Toffolo; Åsa Lindman; Hannah E. Daly; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy transition; Energy system modelling; TIMES-City; TIMES-Sweden; Transportation; Decarbonisation; Climate mitigation; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Transportation is a critical pillar of modern society. Over the past decades, growth in mobility of people and goods have been both enabled by and dependent upon fossil fuels. Strong action is needed to break this dependence in order to reduce CO2. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Geospatial Open-Source Modelling for Integrated Energy Access Planning : New Tools and Methods to Bridge the Energy Access Gap

    Författare :Babak Khavari; Francesco Fuso Nerini; William Usher; Mark Howells; Erik Ahlgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : In 2015 the United Nations (UN) General Assembly agreed on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 goals defined by 169 targets to be reached by 2030. Amongst them is SDG 7. SDG 7 states “Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Electrification in Process Industry - The Role of Process Integration and Future Energy Market Conditions

    Författare :Holger Wiertzema; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrification; bottom-up assessment; energy-intensive process industries; oxo synthesis; oil refining; energy market scenarios; techno-economic assessment; chemical industry;

    Sammanfattning : Electrification of industrial processes is a frequently discussed strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from energy-intensive process industries and is highlighted in many roadmap studies. Electricity is a versatile energy carrier that enables a broad variety of options in which existing process unit operations are replaced with electricity-driven alternatives. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Future District Heating Interactions – Modelling Impacts of Industrial Excess Heat Utilisation and Energy Efficient Buildings

    Författare :Akram Sandvall; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fourth generation district heating; TIMES; waste heat; urban planning.; dynamic energy system modelling; MARKAL; passive houses; low-energy buildings; excess heat;

    Sammanfattning : International goals for climate change mitigation plus energy security targets could be met cost-effectively by interactions between different parts of energy systems. The fourth generation of the district heating systems concept was developed as an attempt to accelerate district heating (DH) systems’ interactions with other energy systems. LÄS MER
