  1. 21. Novel Tumor Suppressor Gene Candidates in Experimental Endometrial Carcinoma - From Cytogenetic to Molecular Analysis

    Författare :Carola Hedberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :cancer; endometrial cancer; tumor suppressor gene; rat models; Skip; Myo1c;

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most common form of gynecological malignancy, ranking fourth in incidence among tumors diagnosed in women. As is the case with other complex diseases, detailed analyses of the underlying mechanisms of cancer are difficult, due mainly to the genetic heterogeneity of the human population and differences in the environment and lifestyle of individuals. 3. 23. Endogenous hormones in the etiology of ovarian and endometrial cancers

    Författare :Annekatrin Lukanova; Eva Lundin; Pär Stattin; Rudolf Kaaks; Susan E. Hankinson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Public health; ovarian cancer; endometrial cancer; sex-steroid hormones; sex-hormone binding globulin; insulin-like growth factor-I; insulin-like growth factor bidning proteins; C-peptide; Folkhälsomedicin; Public health medicine research areas; Folkhälsomedicinska forskningsområden; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis was to examine the relationship of pre-diagnostic circulating levels of sex-steroids (androgens and estrogens), sex hormone binding globuline (SHBG), insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), IGF binding proteins (BP) and C-peptide (as a marker of pancreatic insulin secretion) with risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer. Additionally, the interrelationships of body mass index (BMI), sex-steroids, IGF-I and IGFBP-3 were examined. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Hereditary factors in endometrial cancer

    Författare :Gerasimos Tzortzatos; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most common gynecological malignancy in Sweden and accounts for about 6 % of all female malignancies. The risk of EC increases with age and the majority of cases are diagnosed between age 50 and 60. Ninety percent of cases occur in women older than age 50. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Prognostic factors in endometrial cancer

    Författare :Zoia Razumova; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common malignancy of the female reproductive system in Sweden. Patients with EC generally have a good prognosis, though some face recurrence and have a lower survival rate despite treatment. Current prognostic factors for EC are still not able to accurately reflect disease prognosis. LÄS MER
