  1. 1. Nanofiltration at elevated temperatures: Influence of the combined effects of temperature, salts, pH and cleaning

    Författare :Mattias Nilsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Elevated temperatures; Electroviscous friction; Energy; pH; Economics; Nanofiltration; Pre-treatment; Salt; Swelling; Membrane performance; Cleaning; Temperature;

    Sammanfattning : The influence of temperature, salts, pH, and various pre-treatments and cleaning on the nanofiltration (NF) performance of thin-film polyamide (PA) composite membranes has been investigated. The change in membrane performance was correlated to membrane swelling or/and electroviscous friction. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Thermal Capacity of Railway Wheels - Temperatures, residual stresses and fatigue damage with special focus on metro applications

    Författare :Shahab Teimourimanesh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; railway tread braking; finite element analysis; frictional heating; fatigue damage; metro trains; rig field experiments; railway wheels; stop braking; temperatures;

    Sammanfattning : Tread (block) braking is still one of the most common braking systems on railway vehicles.The action is carried out by pressing brake blocks against the tread of a wheel, which is also inrolling contact with the rail. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Friction and Wear Phenomena in Steels at Elevated Temperatures

    Författare :Sinuhe Hernandez; Urban Wiklund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Sammanfattning : Different grades of steels are often exposed to high temperatures whether during their shaping/forming or during their use in several applications. This exposure to high temperature has a great bearing on the resulting friction and wear phenomena in steels due to changes in their surface and near-surface properties. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantitative Spectroscopy of Gas Phase Reactions at Elevated Temperatures

    Författare :Joachim Walewski; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluiddynamik; Gaser; plasma; Maskinteknik; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; vibrationer; vakuumteknik; statistical inference; Mechanical engineering; polarisation spectroscopy; diamond CVD; quantitative spectroscopy; hydraulik; gas phase kinetics; plasmas; fluid dynamics; Gases; Fysik; akustik; Physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Walewski;

    Sammanfattning : Gas phase reactions at elevated temperatures are versatile tools for material manufacturing and energy conversion. They are of great commercial interest, but they often entail hazardous impacts on the environment. There is consequently a pronounced need for the further develpment of processes utilising these types of reactions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Degradation Mechanisms of Heat Resistant Steel at Elevated Temperatures : In an Iron Ore Pelletizing Industry

    Författare :Erik A. A. Nilsson; Marta-Lena Antti; Ragnar Tegman; Jan-Erik Svensson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stainless steel; Grate-Kiln; microstructure; corrosion; as-casted; thermal cycling; erosion; deposition; Engineering Materials; Materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the different degradation mechanisms of the stainless steel in a travelling grate in a Grate-Kiln iron ore pellet indurator. The travelling grate is a conveyor belt that transports green-body pellets to a rotary kiln while the pellets are being dried and pre-heated to a temperature of 900-1100 °C by recycled hot air.
