  1. 1. Impact of root and mycorrhizal exudation on soil carbon fluxes : influence of elevated CO2 and metals

    Författare :Emma M. Johansson; Patrick van Hees; Bert Allard; Phil Ineson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; amino acids; 13C; carbon cycle; ectomycorrhiza; elevated CO2; exudation; DOC; LMWOA; metal stress; monosaccharides; oxalate; Pinus sylvestris; saprotrophic fungi; soil respiration; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis concerns the behavior of root and ectomycorrhizal (ECM) exudates. In particular, the dynamics of soluble low molecular weight (LMW) organic compounds such as organic acids (LMWOAs), amino acids, monosaccharides, and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) have been studied. 2. 2. Dissociative Adsorption of CO2 on Copper: The Role of Steps

    Författare :Benjamin Hagman; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; koppar; CO2; Copper surface; Carbon Dioxide : chemistry; Dissociative adsorption; Surface oxidation; Ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy APXPS ; Surface X-ray diffraction SXRD ;

    Sammanfattning : CO2 chemistry has received significant interest in recent time, due to the greenhouse effects of CO2 emissions and the resulting climate change. CO2 reduction reactions, such as methanol synthesis and reverse water-gas shift, is providing a route for recycling of CO2 and thus limiting the CO2 emissions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Study of H2/CO/CO2 adsorption on MFI zeolites for CO2 selective WGS membrane reactor concept

    Författare :Sang Wirawan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FTIR spectra; CO2 selective; adsorption; MFI zeolites; Langmuir model; WGS membrane reactor; TPD;

    Sammanfattning : The single-component adsorption behavior of CO, CO2 and multi-component adsorption of H2/CO2, CO/CO2, and H2/CO/CO2 on silicalite-1 and cation exchanged MZSM-5 zeolites (M = H, Na, and Ba) were investigated by a step change response method. Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and in-situ fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy were also performed to study the type of adsorbed species and their thermal stabilities. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effect of elevated pCO2 and environmental oxazepam on the behavior and physiology of teleost fish

    Författare :Laura E. Vossen; Svante Winberg; Robert Gerlai; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fish; GABA; CO2; ocean acidification; pharmaceutical pollution; oxazepam;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis investigated the effect of two aquatic pollutants on the behavior and physiology of teleost fish: i) elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the context of ocean acidification and ii) low concentrations of the anxiolytic pharmaceutical oxazepam in the context of pharmaceutical pollution.Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 are lowering the pH of the oceans. 5. 5. Monitoring climate and plant physiology using deuterium isotopomers of carbohydrates

    Författare :Angela Augusti; Jürgen Schleucher; Vaughan Hurry; Howard Griffiths; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate reconstruction; deuterium; elevated CO2; isotopomer; nuclear magnetic resonance; photorespiration; tree-ring cellulose.; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Climate is changing and it is certain that this change is due to human activities. Atmospheric greenhouse gases have been rising in an unprecedented way during the last two centuries, although the land biosphere has dampened their increase by absorbing CO2 emitted by anthropogenic activities.
