  1. 1. Process Development for Electron Beam Melting of 316LN Stainless Steel

    Författare :Stefan Roos; Lars-Erik Rännar; Andrei Koptioug; Jonas Danvind; Lars Pejryd; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; additive manufacturing; beam deflection rate; electron beam melting; energy input; material properties; microstructure; powder bed fusion; process parameters; 316LN stainless steel;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) is a technology that inverts the procedure of traditional machining. Instead of starting with a billet of material and removing unwanted parts, the AM manufacturing process starts with an empty workspace and proceeds to fill this workspace with material where it is desired, often in a layer-by-layer fashion. 4. 4. Characterisation of Nickel-Based Superalloys Manufactued by Electron Beam Melting

    Författare :Annika Strondl; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEM; electron beam melting; APFIM; EBSD; XRD; DTA; nickel-based superalloys; SEM; additive manufacturing; EDS;

    Sammanfattning : Nickel-based superalloys have been manufactured by electron beam melting (EBM). EBM is an additive manufacturing process for direct production of metal parts. The part is build up by successive melting of metal powder layers in a vacuum chamber using electron beam. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Electron beam melting: Impact of part surface properties on metal fatigue and bone ingrowth

    Författare :Rebecca Klingvall Ek; Lars-Erik Rännar; Mikael Bäckström; Jaan Hong; Ola Harrysson; Mittuniversitetet; []

    Sammanfattning : AbstractThe aim of this thesis is to investigate aspects on how additive manufacturing (AM) contributes to functional bone implants with the use of the electron beam melting (EBM) technology. AM manufactures parts according to computer-aided design, and the EBM technology melts powder using an electron beam, which acts similar to a laser beam. LÄS MER
