1. Electromagnetic and Spin Properties of Hyperons
Sammanfattning : The study of hyperons improves our understanding of nature in multiple ways. The intrinsic properties of hadrons are not fully understood at a fundamental level. Hence, the electromagnetic properties of hyperons provide complementary information to that of the nucleon and therefore allow for a broader investigation of the structure of matter. LÄS MER
2. Hadron Physics in a Polarized World : Exploring Electromagnetic Interactions with Spin Observables
Sammanfattning : The electromagnetic interactions of hadrons serve as a valuable probe of the nature of the strong force at low energies and simultaneously allow for tests of fundamental discrete symmetries. In this thesis, I show how polarization observables can be used to gain an in-depth understanding of these processes and present two analyses of data from the BESIII experiment where such observables have been studied. 3. Electromagnetic Analysis of Hydroelectric Generators
Sammanfattning : Hydropower maintains its position as the most important source of renewable electric energy in the world. The efficiency of large hydropower plants is unsurpassed, and after more than hundred years of development, the technology is mature and highly reliable. LÄS MER
4. Dynamics of quarks and leptons : theoretical Studies of Baryons and Neutrinos
Sammanfattning : The Standard Model of Elementary Particle Physics (SM) is the present theoryfor the elementary particles and their interactions and is a well-established theorywithin the physics community. The SM is a combination of Quantum Chromodynamics(QCD) and the Glashow{Weinberg{Salam (GWS) electroweak model. LÄS MER
5. Mapping and characterisation of Swedish bedrock by DC resistivity and transient-field electromagnetic measurement
Sammanfattning : DC electrical and electromagnetic methods have been used for a long time to detect and characterise fracture zones in site investigations and other engineering projects. However, the methods have not been used very much in basic geological mapping of crystalline rock on a regional to semi-regional scale. LÄS MER
