  2. 2. Sustainability and development impacts of off-grid electrification in developing countries : An assessment of South Africa's rural electrification program

    Författare :Chukwuma Leonard Azimoh; Björn Karlsson; Boaventura Cuamba; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Off-grid electrification; sustainability; solar home system; hybrid mini-grid; renewable energy; technical challenges; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Previous studies have shown that provision of sustainable electricity supply to rural households is essential to bring development to off-grid populations. For this reason, most developing countries put large efforts into rural electrification programs to stimulate development and reduce poverty. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Electrification of Road Transportation - Implications for the Electricity System

    Författare :Maria Taljegård; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; highway E39; CO2 emissions; electric vehicle; electric road systems; energy system modelling; variable renewable electricity;

    Sammanfattning : It is incumbent upon the transport sector to reduce its CO2 emissions by replacing fossil fuels with low-carbon alternatives. Suggested strategies include electrification of the road transport sector through the use of electric vehicles (EVs) with static charging, electric road systems (ERS), and the use of electricity to produce fuels.
