1. The Chevreton Superenergy Tensor in Einstein-Maxwell Spacetimes
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we investigate the superenergy tensor that was introduced by Chevreton in 1964 as an electromagnetic counterpart to the Bel-Robinson tensor for the gravitational feld.We show that in Einstein-Maxwell spacetimes with a source-free electromagnetic feld, the Chevreton superenergy tensor has many interesting properties. 2. Future stability of the Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar field system and non-linear wave equations coupled to generalized massive-massless Vlasov equations
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two articles related to mathematical relativity theory. In the first article we prove future stability of certain spatially homogeneous solutionsto Einstein’s field equations. The matter model is assumed to consist of an electromagnetic field and a scalar field with a potential creating an accelerated expansion. LÄS MER
3. The Chevreton tensor and its trace
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we investigate the Chevreton tensor in Einstein-Maxwell theory. It was introduced in 1964 as the counterpart, for electromagnetic fields, of the well-known Bel-Robinson tensor of the gravitational field. We prove that, in the absence of electromagnetic sources, this tensor is completely symmetric. LÄS MER
4. Gravitational perturbations in plasmas and cosmology
Sammanfattning : Gravitational perturbations can be in the form of scalars, vectors or tensors. This thesis focuses on the evolution of scalar perturbations in cosmology, and interactions between tensor perturbations, in the form of gravitational waves, and plasma waves. LÄS MER
5. Nonlinear interaction and propagation of gravitational and electromagnetic waves in plasmas
Sammanfattning : Gravitational waves and electromagnetic waves are important as carriers of energy and information. This thesis is devoted to the study of the propagation and interaction of these waves in plasmas, with emphasis on nonlinear effects and applications within astrophysics. LÄS MER
