    Sammanfattning : In a burning plasma, such as the next generation tokamak experiment ITER, significant numbers of highly energetic particles will be produced via nuclear reactions. The presence of energetic particles, be it fusion born alpha particles or ions accelerated by auxiliary heating schemes, may excite kinetic instabilities and thereby affect the heating and transport of all particles in the plasma.     Sammanfattning : Runaway electrons can be generated as a consequence of the rapid thermal quench of the plasma in a tokamak disruption. If the time scale of this cooling is short compared to the collision time in the tail of the electron velocity distribution, incomplete thermalisation of this tail leads to a burst of runaway production.     Sammanfattning : Design and analysis methods for gas turbine combustors or afterburners need to be improved in particular regarding the prediction of combustion instabilities. A methodology, which combines the use of a linearized flow solver and the Arnoldi algorithm for eigenmode extraction, resolves eigenmodes which are candidates to these instabilities. LÄS MER
