  1. 1. Carbon Dioxide: The Unknown Factor in the Atmospheric Corrosion of Light Metals. A Laboratory Study

    Författare :Daniel Bengtsson Blücher; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SO2; temperature; CO2; atmospheric corrosion; magnesium; NO2; aluminum alloys; NaCl; O3; Mg-Al alloys;

    Sammanfattning : The atmospheric corrosion of Al and Mg-Al alloys was investigated using controlled air in the laboratory. The effects of CO2, temperature, NaCl, relative humidity, SO2, NO2 and O3 on corrosion rate and corrosion product composition were examined. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fundamentals of NH3-SCR and SOx chemistry over copper zeolite for the control of NOx and greenhouse gas (N2O) emissions

    Författare :Joonsoo Han; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DeNOx; Cu SSZ-13; NH3-SCR; N2O; EATS; SO3; ammonium nitrate; SO2;

    Sammanfattning : The release of N2O over Cu-zeolite was investigated due to the critical contribution it makes to the atmosphere as one of the greenhouse gases (GHGs). An exhaust after-treatment system (EATS) for heavy-duty vehicles that uses Cu/SSZ-13 as the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) catalyst experiences not only a variety of flow, temperature and chemical conditions but is also exposed to various resulting contaminants. 3. 3. The role of particles on initial atmospheric corrosion of copper and zinc : lateral distribution, secondary spreading and CO2-/SO2-influence

    Författare :Zhuo Yuan Chen; Christofer Leygraf; Jan-Erik Svensson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; atmospheric corrosion; copper; zinc; NaCl particles; NH4 2SO4; Materials chemistry; Materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The role of sodium chloride (NaCl) particles and ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) particles on the initial atmospheric corrosion of copper and zinc was investigated under in situ and ex situ conditions using microgravimetry, FTIR spectroscopy, ion chromatography, scanning electron microscopy with x-ray microanalysis and the scanning Kelvin probe. For the first time, in situ infrared spectra were collected on a micron level during particle induced atmospheric corrosion using a recently developed experimental set-up for in situ FTIR microspectroscopy. Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the application of nanocrystalline transition metal oxide TiO2, WO3 and NiO thin films in new “green” building technologies. Specifically, their physicochemical properties in photocatalytic, self-cleaning and gas sensing applications are studied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Application of Passive DOAS using Scattered Sunlight for quantification of gas emissions from anthropogenic and volcanic sources

    Författare :Claudia Rivera; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nitrogen dioxide; DOAS; gas emission; sulphur dioxide; volcanic; formaldehyde.; scattered sunlight; anthropogenic;

    Sammanfattning : Monitoring of gas emissions from natural and anthropogenic sources is important due to the negative effects of these emissions on human health, atmospheric quality and ecosystems. Concern over air pollution has increased the need to develop measurement techniques suitable for gas flux determination. LÄS MER
