  1. 1. Arctic Water System Change and its Interactions with Permafrost and Ecosystem Changes

    Författare :Johanna Mård Karlsson; Georgia Destouni; Daqing Yang; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arctic; climate change; monitoring; ecosystem shifts; hydrology; hydro-climatic change; permafrost; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and various changes in the landscape itself, such as permafrost thaw, may trigger and mediate substantial changes in the inland water system of the Arctic. Many climate change responses in the Arctic landscape and ecosystems are then related to alterations in the hydrological system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Digitalization, sustainability, and ecosystems : An application of social network analysis to the real estate sector

    Författare :Olli Vigren; Kent Eriksson; Paavo Ritala; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; absorptive capacity; built environment; business development; business ecosystem; dynamic capabilities; digitalization; entrepreneurial ecosystem; facility management; Formal Concept Analysis; innovation ecosystem; literature review; methodology; platform ecosystem; property technology; real estate; research methods; Social Network Analysis; sustainability; Business Studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Societies today have increasing economic, social, and environmental needs for their built environments. The performance of the built environment depends largely on urban development, with the role of digital technologies therein being a long-standing research topic. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Function follows Form : Trait-based approaches to climate change effects on wetland vegetation and functioning

    Författare :Helen Moor; Jon Norberg; Andrew Gonzalez; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Functional traits; Plant community ecology; Trait distributions; Wetlands; Ecosystem functioning; Ecosystem Services; Climate change; Dispersal; Metacommunity modelling; naturresurshushållning; Natural Resources Management;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and habitat fragmentation are altering the structure and functioning of plant communities world-wide. Understanding how, why and with what consequences are major challenges of ecology today. Trait-based approaches focus on functional rather than taxonomic identity to facilitate process-based explanation and prediction. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Land Use, Freshwater Flows and Ecosystem Services in an Era of Global Change

    Författare :Line Gordon; Carl Folke; David Molden; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; freshwater; green water; ecosystem services; integrated water resources management; food production; land use and land cover change; vulnerability; resilience; hydrological cycle; global change; Australia; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to analyse interactions between freshwater flows, terrestrial ecosystems and human well-being. Freshwater management and policy has mainly focused on the liquid water part (surface and ground water run off) of the hydrological cycle including aquatic ecosystems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Från ett perspektiv på ekologiska processer till ett verktyg för att diskutera hållbarhetsfrågor : Hur ekosystemtjänster – ett nytt ämnesinnehåll, kan ta form i undervisningspraktiken

    Författare :Andreas Magnusson; Ulla Runesson Kempe; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Ecosystem services; ecosystem; sustainable development; education for sustainable development; learning study; variation theory; activity theory; the cycle of expansive learning; middle school;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to generate knowledge about how teachers embark on new subject content and how their understandings of ecosystem services evolve and change in teaching practice, and also what it means to be able to discuss the relationship between the ecological and social in terms of ecosystem services in a teaching practice in middle school.The teachers used the learning study model and variation theory to explore the object of learning, by trying to design an instruction that offers fifth grade students the possibility to develop their knowledge of ecosystem services.
