21. Holocene Environmental Change of Southern Öland, Sweden
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes Holocene environmental change in Ottenby, southern Öland,Sweden. Analyses of pollen sequences collected distally in the Littorina ridge and in fentroughs between lower laying beach ridges show the vegetation history during twoperiods, the first around 8000 BP and the second from 0/500 AD to about present time. 22. Shell repair as a response to attempted predation in some Palaeozoic and younger gastropods
Sammanfattning : Traces of unsuccessful predatory attacks can be found in the hard parts of shell-bearing organisms as repaired shell injuries and are often preserved in the fossil record. These repaired shell injuries can help to deduce the relationship between predator and prey in the past. LÄS MER
23. Improvements of U-pipe Borehole Heat Exchangers
Sammanfattning : The sales of Ground Source Heat Pumps in Sweden and many other countries are having a rapid growth in the last decade. Today, there are approximately 360 000 systems installed in Sweden, with a growing rate of about 30 000 installations per year. LÄS MER
24. Hydrogeological Methods in Geotechnical Engineering: Applied to settlements caused by underground construction
Sammanfattning : Improvement in the infrastructure in urban areas generally involves underground construction with tunneling and deep excavations. One important consideration when constructing in cities founded on soft soil is settlement resulting from groundwater drawdown. The potential cost of excessive settlement in these projects is immense. LÄS MER
25. Modelling of Groundwater Conditions in Silts and Fine Sands. A Study of Induced Groundwater Changes Based on Laboratory and Full-Scale Field Tests
Sammanfattning : Every day, geotechnical engineers have to deal with groundwater problems. In order to find suitable solutions to these problems, modelling of the groundwater conditions and their variations in time has to be performed. A study of the groundwater conditions in silts and fine sands was made including laboratory and full-scale field tests. LÄS MER
