  1. 6. Neural Stem Cell Differentiation and Migration

    Författare :Anna Erlandsson; Karin Forsberg-Nilsson; Bengt Westermark; Christer Betsholtz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; CNS; stem cells; neuron; PDGF; SCF; differentiation; migration; ERK; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; Medicinsk biokemi; Medical Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Neural stem cells are the precursors of neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. During neural development, the division of stem cells takes place close to the lumen of the neural tube, after which they migrate to their final positions within the central nervous system (CNS). 2. 7. Notch Signaling in Neuroblastoma and Renal Cell Carcinoma

    Författare :Jonas Sjölund; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; differentiation; clear cell renal cell carcinoma; neuroblastoma; TGF-beta; migration; γ-secretase; valproic acid; cancer; Notch; ERK; von Hippel-Lindau; hypoxia;

    Sammanfattning : The Notch signaling pathway governs cell functions essential for normal development and organogenesis. Aberrant Notch signaling has been implicated in tumorigenesis by perturbing control of proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, migration and angiogenesis. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Investigating the function of the Receptor Tyrosine Kinase ALK during Drosophila melanogaster development

    Författare :Christina Lorén; Mike Taylor; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :DAlk; receptor tyrosine kinase; Jeb; visceral muscle fusion; ERK; Drosophila; endoderm; molecular cell biology; molekylär cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The Drosophila melanogaster gene Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (DAlk) is homologous to mammalian Alk, which is a member of the Alk/Ltk family of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). In humans the t(2;5) translocation involving the Alk locus encodes an active form of Alk that is the causative agent in Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (Morris et al., 1994). LÄS MER

  4. 9. The mechanism of integrin inactivation and cell signalling induced by c-erbB2, an oncogenic growth factor receptor

    Författare :Shahram Hedjazifar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; c-erbB2; integrin á2â1; cell-matrix; integrin conformation; PKB; ERK; Rho; ILK; Nck-2;

    Sammanfattning : Overexpression of the oncogenic growth factor receptor, c-erbB2, is linked with poor prognosis in breast carcinomas and is used as a target for therapeutic strategies. To elucidate the mechanism underlying the tumorigenic action of an elevated c-erbB2 level, leading to homodimerization and activation, we have used an inducible system where a hybrid receptor consisting of the cytoplasmic and transmembrane domains of c-erbB2 fused to the extracellular domain of the trkA NGF receptor has been stably transfected into an immortalized mammary epithelial cell line. 5. 10. Signaling determinants in Trojan horse-mediated dissemination of Toxoplasma gondii

    Författare :Einar B. Ólafsson; Antonio Barragan; Eva Frickel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apicomplexa; leukocyte motility; dendritic cell; amoeboid migration; host-parasite interactions; podosome; integrin; ITGB1; ECM; MAT; TIMP; MMP; MAPK; Erk; RTK; HGFR; Ras; calcium; VDCC; VGCC; calmodulin; CaMkII; CD63; FAK; SRC; Pi3k; hypermigration; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects all warm-blooded vertebrates including one third of the global human population. While infection is typically asymptomatic in healthy human hosts, reactivated and acute infection in immunosuppressed or immunecompromised individuals can lead to lethal toxoplasmic encephalitis After ingestion, the parasite crosses the intestinal epithelium and rapidly achieves systemic dissemination, ultimately establishing chronic infection in the brain.
