  1. 1. The role of EBNA binding proteins in cell transformation

    Författare :Suhas Darekar; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects majority of the human population and maintains sub-clinical infection. However, under certain conditions it is associated with several B-cell malignancies, such as Burkitt lymphoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma etc. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Epstein-Barr nuclear antigens 1 & 5; Study of virus-host cellular protein interactions

    Författare :Alma Forsman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA1; EBNA5; EBNA-LP; cellular network; virus-host protein interactions;

    Sammanfattning : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is the causative agent or cofactor in the aetiology of several human malignancies such as Burkitt’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and lymphoproliferative disorder in immunocompromised patients. EBV is a lymphotropic γ-herpes virus infecting more than 90 percent of the population worldwide. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Identification of EBNA binding cellular proteins, using yeast two-hybrid system

    Författare :Elena Kashuba; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a common herpesvirus that establishes life-long persistence in the human host through the elaborate regulation of different latency types. Latent EBV infection of resting B cells converts them into transformed cells that can develop into tumors in immune-compromised hosts. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Early events of EBV mediated B cell transformation

    Författare :Katja Pokrovskaja; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :EBV; EBNA; p53; LMP-1; BL; GC; pNDCFs;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) efficiently immortalizes B cells in vitro leading to the establishment of lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs). Genes encoding RB and p53 are frequently deleted or mutated in human tumors. EBV immortalized LCLs, however, retain both genes in their wild type state. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Topographical study of intranuclear distribution and compartementalization of viral and cellular proteins

    Författare :Wei-Qin Jiang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The nuclei of eukaryotic cells contain a number of specialized domains involved in DNA replication, transcription, pre-mRNA splicing and ribosome assembly. In addition to these structures, nuclear bodies of unknown function have been described. LÄS MER
