1. Gene regulation by Early B-cell Factor (EBF)
Sammanfattning : In this study we aimed at defining genes that are controlled by Early B-cell Factor (EBF), that could explain the severe block in B-cell development observed in EBF-/- mice. The fact that EBF appears to be important for the transcriptional control of genes encoding proteins in the pre-B and B-cell receptor complex implied to us that EBF could be a common regulator of other components in the pre-B and B-cell receptor. 2. Genetic networks dictating early lymphoid lineage decision events
Sammanfattning : Differentiation from hematopoietic stem cells to mature blood cells of different lineages is a continuous process that requires the coordinated activity of several stage and lineage specific transcription factors. These factors act in a transcriptional hierarchy and also in a combinatorial manner to establish the expression of the genes that comprise a specific differentiation program. LÄS MER
3. Tissue specific functions of Early B-cell factor in cellular differentiation
Sammanfattning : This work focus on the functions by which the transcription factor Early B-cell Factor (EBF) regulate gene expression in different cell types. To address this question, gene expression analyses aimed to investigate the regulatory role of EBF in neuroblastoma cells, B-lymphocytes, adipocytes and stromal cells were performed. LÄS MER
4. Studies on Molecular Genetics of B cell Development
Sammanfattning : The development of immature progenitor cells into highly differentiated effector cells is a process central in modern medicine with applications in the fields of cell therapy as well as oncology. This thesis is focused on the molecular mechanisms that control the development of B lymphocytes. LÄS MER
5. Regulation and functions of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors in neuroblastoma cells
Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumor derived from primordial neural crest cells. The tumor cells exhibit a phenotype similar to that of developing neuroblasts, which indicates that the tumor arises due to perturbed differentiation of the sympathetic nervous system. LÄS MER
