    Sammanfattning : Abstract [ENG]Proteins govern a multitude of biological functions vital to sustain life. The ability to withstand diseases development and harboring a defense against foreign pathogens is attributed to the wonders of the immune system and the proteins and cells its comprised of. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Engineering Antibody Specificity Using Combinatorial Antibody Libraries

    Författare :Jenny Boström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; antibody Antigen Interactions; Dual Specific Antibodies; Herceptin; Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2; Thermodynamic Analysis; therapeutic Antibody Engineering; Synthetic Phagedisplayed Antibody Libraries; Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor; Bacterial Display; trastuzumab;

    Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis investigates antibody specificity, antibody-antigen and protein-protein interactions using combinatorial antibody libraries, phage-display and bacterial display technology. One goal was to develop a method to generate antibodies that bind two protein antigens with high affinity using a single-antigen binding site, and to investigate the molecular and thermodynamic requirements for antibody multispecificity. 3. 3. Transcriptome and Proteome Analysis using Signature Tags

    Författare :Charlotta Agaton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :functional genomics; 3´-end signature tags; pyrosequencing; amplification; PrEST; chromosome 21; polyclonal antibodies; dual expression; affinity purification;

    Sammanfattning : With the full sequence of the human genome now available, anexciting era in biomedical research has started. The sequenceprovides information about all our genes and greatly increasesthe scope to compare genetic activities in different cells, toanalyze genetic variation between individuals and betweendifferent species and, most importantly, to investigatesystematically the whole genome in a gene-by-gene manner, andthus increase our understanding of gene function.
