  1. 1. Functions of Transcriptional Co-regulators in Drosophila development

    Författare :Tobias Lilja; Mattias Mannervik; Ze'ev Paroush; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transcription; Co-regulator; Development; Drosophila; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental Biology; miljömedicinsk utvecklingsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : During Drosophila development, regulation of gene expression through interplay between transcriptional activators and repressors is generating complex patterns of gene expression that leads to cell differentiation. For proper control of transcription, transcription factors bind to DNA at control regions, so called Cis Regulatory Modules (CRM). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Chromatin regulators and transcriptional control of Drosophila development

    Författare :Qi Dai; Mattias Mannervik; Albert J. Courey; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chromatin; Co-factors; Transcription; Development; Drosophila; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental Biology; miljömedicinsk utvecklingsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The development of a multicellular organism is programmed by complex patterns of gene expression. In eukaryotic cells, genes are packaged by histone proteins into chromatin. Chromatin regulators often function as transcription co-factors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mucin-like proteins in Drosophila development

    Författare :Zulfeqhar Ali Syed; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mucins; PTS-domains; Drosophila development; Tube shape; Hindgut; Midgut; Malpighian tubules; Luminal matrix;

    Sammanfattning : Mucins are large and highly glycosylated proteins and major component of the mucus that coats the lining of epithelial organs. Mucins are characterized by the presence of extended regions rich in the amino acids Proline, Threonine and Serine (PTS domain), where the Serines and Threonines are O-glycosylated to form sugar-rich mucin domains. 4. 4. Midgut and muscle development in Drosophila melanogaster

    Författare :Margret Shirinian; Ruth Palmer; Anne Uve; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Drosophila; visceral mesoderm; endoderm; somatic muscles; Alk; C3G; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The fully developed and functional Drosophila midgut comprises two layers, the visceral mesoderm and the endoderm. The visceral muscle of the midgut is formed by the fusion of founder cells with fusion competent cells to form the muscle syncytia. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Protein tyrosine kinases and the regulation of signalling and adhesion in drosophila melanogaster

    Författare :Caroline Grabbe; Ruth Palmer; Tapio Heino; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Drosophila; Signalling; Adhesion; Protein Tyrosine Kinase; Development; Endocytosis; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : In order to build a multi-cellular organism and to regulate cellular functions, cells need to communicate with each other, as well as tightly regulate their behaviour in response to environmental changes. For these purposes all eukaryotic cells express a large number of membrane spanning receptors that either themselves contain catalytic activity or via cytoplasmic effector enzymes, function to transmit “signals” from the cell exterior to induce appropriate responses within the cell.
