  1. 21. A model of attention selection in driving

    Författare :Johan A Skifs Engström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; driver modelling; adaptive behaviour; Driver inattention; attention selection; accident analysis; biased competition; driver error; biased competition; driver distraction;

    Sammanfattning : Inattention is one of the most common factors contributing to road crashes. However, the basic mechanisms behind inattention and how it leads to crashes are still relatively poorly understood. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Facing failures : interactions between drivers and advanced driver assistance systems

    Författare :Niklas Strand; Håkan Alm; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adaptive cruise control; Driver assistance system; Driver; Behaviour; Thesis; Adaptiva farthållare; Förarstödssystem; Förare; Beteende; Doktorsavhandling; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; 914 Road: ITS och vehicle technology; 914 Road: ITS och vehicle technology; 911 Road: Components of the vehicle; 911 Road: Components of the vehicle;

    Sammanfattning : Drivers’ interactions with advanced driver assistance systems based on experiences from real driving and results from driving in a driving simulator were under investigation in this thesis. Questions posed were: - How do drivers perceive and interact with ADAS? - How are (technical) failures handled by drivers, and which are the consequences’ of these failures? - Which are the implications for diagnosis and detection of failures, as well as for system development? Special attention was given to driver behavior in response to technical failures in an adaptive cruise control system. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Integrated brake control : downhill driving strategies

    Författare :Peter Lingman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; transport efficiency; heavy duty trucks; road slope estimation; cruise controller; retardation economy; foundation brakes; mass estimation; brake heat fading; Auxilary brakes; downhill driving strategies; component wear;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, downhill driving strategies that co–ordinate the different brake actuators in heavy duty vehicles have been developed. As a starting point, the vehicle features affected by the retardation system are investigated. LÄS MER

  4. 24. On Provably Correct Decision-Making for Automated Driving

    Författare :Yuvaraj Selvaraj; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; deductive verification; formal methods; supervisory control theory; formal verification; Automated driving; model checking; hybrid systems.; decision-making;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of driving automation in road vehicles can potentially reduce road traffic crashes and significantly improve road safety. Automation in road vehicles also brings several other benefits such as the possibility to provide independent mobility for people who cannot and/or should not drive. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Vibration transfer process during vibratory sheet pile driving : from source to soil

    Författare :Fanny Deckner; Staffan Hintze; Kenneth Viking; Steinar Nordal; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ground vibrations; sheet piles; vibratory driving; vibration transfer process; instrumentation system; field tests; numerical modelling; vibration prediction; markvibrationer; spont; vibrodrivning; vibrationsöverföringsprocessen; instrumenteringssystem; fältförsök; numerisk modellering; vibrationsprognosticering; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Vibratory driven sheet piles are a cost-effective retaining wall structure, and in coming decades the continued use of this method will be crucial for minimising costs within the construction sector. However, vibratory driven sheet piles are a source of ground vibrations, which may harm structures or induce disturbance. LÄS MER
