16. A Model of Driver Perception and Action in Intersections
Sammanfattning : The objective of the research presented in this thesis is to describe driver behavior while approaching, entering and exiting an intersection. To fulfill this objective, two semi-naturalistic studies were conducted where ten driver participants drove a test vehicle through a three-way intersection repeatedly, driving straight, turning left, and turning right in a total of six possible passes. 17. Driver interaction with vulnerable road users: Understanding and modelling driver behaviour for the design and evaluation of intelligent safety systems
Sammanfattning : Every year, more than 5000 pedestrians and 2000 cyclists die on European roads. These vulnerable road users (VRU) are at especially high risk when interacting with motorised vehicles. LÄS MER
18. Traffic Simulation Modelling of Rural Roads and Driver Assistance Systems
Sammanfattning : Microscopic traffic simulation has proven to be a useful tool for analysis of varioustraffic systems. This thesis consider microscopic traffic simulation of rural roads andthe use of traffic simulation for evaluation of driver assistance systems. LÄS MER
19. Cognitive Workload and the Driver : Understanding the Effects of Cognitive Workload on Driving from a Human Information Processing Perspective
Sammanfattning : This doctoral dissertation in psychology focuses on present day transport research issues. Society is affected by the way that our transport system works. In one way or another, the use of the transport system involves different levels of human involvement and control. LÄS MER
20. Driver Preferences of Steering Characteristics
Sammanfattning : The future of vehicle steering systems lies within by-wire technology. With by-wire technology mechanical or hydraulic systems are replaced by electronic systems. Removal of the steering column and possibly other linkage and gears yields vast potential of further improvement of performance, comfort and safety. LÄS MER
