1. Towards sustainable urban transportation : Test, demonstration and development of fuel cell and hybrid-electric buses
Sammanfattning : Several aspects make today’s transport system non-sustainable: • Production, transport and combustion of fossil fuels lead to global and local environmental problems. • Oil dependency in the transport sector may lead to economical and political instability. LÄS MER
2. Geometry Optimization of an Interior Permanent Magnet Machine for Electric Vehicles - Life Cycle Cost Minimization for City, Rural and Highway Driving
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the benefits of customizing an Interior Permanent magnet Machine (IPM) for a specific combination of city, rural and highway driving. Focus lies on the potential to reduce the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) of the IPM and power electronic converter, for an example Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), by custom-making the IPM. LÄS MER
3. Efficiency Analysis of Drive-train for an Electrified Vehicle
Sammanfattning : In this PhD thesis, various solutions to improve the energy efficiency in the electrical drive-train of an electrified vehicle such as modifications of the propulsioninverter or control of the electric machine, are proposed and their benefits arequantified from an energy efficiency point of view. The efficiency analysis isbased on modeling of a power electronics inverter, an electric machine and a battery in various drive cycles for an electrified vehicle. LÄS MER
4. Investigation of a Multilevel Inverter for Electric Vehicle Applications
Sammanfattning : Electrified vehicles on the market today all use the classical two-level inverter as the propulsion inverter. This thesis analyse the potential of using a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter as the propulsion inverter. LÄS MER
5. Energy Efficiency Comparison Between Two-level and Multilevel Inverters for Electric Vehicle Applications
Sammanfattning : In order to contribute to the development of energy and cost efficient electric vehicles, a thorough analysis of two different electric converter topologies is performed, considering different drive cycles and different control strategies. In the electric vehicles available on the market today, a high voltage (200−400 V ) battery pack composed of several battery modules is connected to one or more inverters which create AC voltages to the electric propulsion machines.
