  1. 1. Dot Gain in Colour Halftones

    Författare :Stefan Gustavson; Jonathan Amey; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The incomparably most common way of reproducing images in print is by halftoning, whereby varying levels of grey or colour are simulated by small dots with maximum colour density but with a varying local fractional area coverage, printed on a white substrate. Whenever such a reproduction is used, a ubiquitous effect called dot gain comes into play and makes the actual image appear darker than what would have been expected from a perfect reproduction. 2. 2. Automated CtP Calibration for Offset Printing : Dot gain compensation, register variation and trapping evaluation

    Författare :Shahram Hauck; Sasan Gooran; Björn Kruse; Peter Nussbaum; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Although offset printing has been and still is the most common printing technology for color print productions, its print productions are subject to variations due to environmental and process parameters. Therefore, it is very important to frequently control the print production quality criteria in order to make the process predictable, reproducible and stable. LÄS MER

  3. 3. High Resolution Analysis of Halftone Prints : A Colorimetric and Multispectral Study

    Författare :Daniel Nyström; Björn Kruse; Markku Hauta- Kasari; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Color imaging; Multispectral imaging; Halftone print; Dot gain; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : To reproduce color images in print, the continuous tone image is first transformed into a binary halftone image, producing various colors by discrete dots with varying area coverage. In halftone prints on paper, physical and optical dot gains generally occur, making the print look darker than expected, and making the modeling of halftone color reproduction a challenge. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Fabrication and characterization of single luminescing quantum dots from 1D silicon nanostructures

    Författare :Benjamin Bruhn; Jan Linnros; Luca Dal Negro; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; silicon; quantum dot; nanocrystal; nanowire; nanostructure; photoluminescence;

    Sammanfattning : Silicon as a mono-crystalline bulk semiconductor is today the predominant material in many integrated electronic and photovoltaic applications. This has not been the case in lighting technology, since due to its indirect bandgap nature bulk silicon is an inherently poor light emitter. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Thermoelectric Phenomena in Quantum Dots

    Författare :Sofia Fahlvik Svensson; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Fahlvik Svensson; Coulomb blockade; nanowire; thermoelectricity; quantum dot;

    Sammanfattning : Thermoelectricity is being intensively researched as it is believed to hold great promise for applications in power generation and cooling. One way to quantify the electrical power output of a thermoelectric material is the power factor, a function of electrical conductivity and thermopower. LÄS MER
